Mistake Potentially Costs Maicon on the River

Heads-up on a board of K♦A♣5♠9♠, a player in the hijack bet 1,300 and Bogdan Maicon raised to 3,100 in the cutoff. His opponent called and they saw the 5♦ fall on the river.
The hijack checked over to Maicon, who took a few seconds before tapping the felt with his finger. His opponent then showed A♦10♥.
"I didn't want to check. I was thinking. I didn't know how much to bet on the river," Maicon said as he turned over 5♥5♣ for quads. "It's my mistake," Maicon admitted.
