Hellmuth Gets Paid by Sood at the Fun Table

Martin Hellmuth raised to 12,000 under the gun as action went on Min Ji in early position.

"Do you have good cards?" Hellmuth asked him.

"No, I'm just wasting time," Ji admitted as the table went into a deep discussion about the merits of stalling on the bubble.

Ji eventually folded, but Arun Sood called in the big blind as he and Hellmuth checked the 8♣7♠6♥ flop. Hellmuth then bet 30,000 on the 9♣ turn and Sood called.

The river was the 6♣ and Hellmuth bet another 65,000. Sood snap-called and Hellmuth showed K♣10♥ for a straight. Sood flashed a six as he mucked.

"Noisy table," Antonis Poulengeris, wandering over from another table, said.

"God forbid we have fun," Hellmuth replied.

Karl Harris raised to 12,000 in early position before Arun Sood three-bet to 25,000 in middle position. Mohamad Ramadan then moved all in for 98,000 in the big blind and Harris folded. "You're winning right now," Sood said as he called.

"I hope so," Ramadan replied.

The 8♠7♣6♦ flop gave Sood outs to a straight. "Ten, five or a queen," he said, but he missed the 8♣ turn.

"Eight is no use to anybody," Sood said, while the 2♠ river kept Ramadan in the lead and earned him a double up.

Gang Wang limped in from early position and Antonis Poulengeris raised to 32,000 in the hijack. Longmao Fan then moved all in from the small blind.

While Mario Trattou was tanking in the big blind, Wang folded out of turn and the floor was called over. Trattou eventually gave up his hand as well, Wang's action stood, while Poulengeris snap-called.

Fan had Poulengeris dominated with his kings as the flop came 8♦3♥3♣. The turn, though, was the Q♥ as Poulengeris spiked a full house. The river was the 10♠ and Fan stood up to snap a photo of the board.

"I'm going to take a photo, as well, because that never happens," Poulengeris said. The stacks were counted down and Poulengeris had 137,000 remaining. Fan was barely covered and headed to the rail.
