The cutoff showed 7♠6♠ for a pair and straight draw, while Silva had 10♦10♣ for a set. The river was the A♥ and Silva held on to earn the knockout.

In a battle between the blinds, Tamas Tari and John Cheevers built a pot of nearly 20,000 as they went to the turn with the board showing 8♣4♥4♦6♦. Tari then bet 7,600, and Cheevers called.
The river was the 2♠ and Tari moved all in. Cheevers quickly called for his last 15,000 with K♦8♥ for two pair, but Tari had A♠4♠ for trips to win the pot and send Cheevers to the rail.
Tullio Bertoli was also eliminated on another table.
James Hawkins three-bet to 3,500 on the button and an opponent in the hijack called. The cutoff then moved all in for 20,000. "I knew you were going to do it. All in," Hawkins said as he reshoved, and the hijack got out of the way.
