Ian Simpson raised to 32,000 in middle position and Martin Fernandez moved all in for 299,000 in middle position. Marcos Paneque called for his last 50,000 on the button, while Simpson also called to put both opponents at risk.
Marcos Paneque: K♠J♠
Martin Fernandez: A♠K♦
Ian Simpson: 8♥8♠
Simpson had a chance for the double knockout if his eights could hold up, and he was poised to do just that as the board came 7♣9♠2♠9♥. The river, though, was the A♣ and Fernandez hit two pair to scoop the pot, earning a double up off Simpson while sending Paneque to the rail.
888poker Live Madrid champion Gorka Akerreta also busted at the feature table.
Sergio Roa raised to 32,000 under the gun before Alvaro Murciano three-bet to 80,000 in early position. Roa then moved all in for 350,000, and Murciano snap-called.
Sergio Roa: Q♦Q♣
Alvaro Murciano: A♦K♥
It was a classic flip, and Roa was a card away from a double up as the board came 10♣6♠6♣4♣. The river, though, was the K♠ and Murciano hit two pair to win the pot and send Roa to the rail.
With around 180,000 in the pot on a flop of 7♦J♥9♣, Alberto Fernandez got in his last 370,000 from the big blind as Marcos Paneque put him at risk in early position.
Alberto Fernandez: 9♠9♥
Marcos Paneque: 7♥7♠
Both players had flopped a set, while Fernandez was in the lead with his nines. The rest of the board ran out K♠10♣ and Fernandez doubled up.
"Whoa, momma," Paneque said while handing over most of his stack.
The next hand at this table, Ian Simpson picked up K♣K♦ on the button against Thierry Mulin's 10♦10♣ and held on a board of 8♥J♣Q♣6♦2♣ to double up to more than 600,000.
Antonios Georgiou bet 66,000 from early position on a board of J♦2♦9♣5♠, Filip Barczak moved all in from the big blind, and Georgiou snap-called for 180,000.
Georgiou showed A♥J♥ for top pair, while Barczak was on a straight draw with 8♣7♦. The 3♦ river was safe for Georgiou, and he doubled up.
Alvaro Murciano bet 40,000 from under the gun on a flop of 5♣Q♣8♦ and Terry Jordon raised to 100,000 in the cutoff. Murciano called.
The turn was the K♦ and Jordon bet 200,000. Murciano then moved all in for 317,000. "I can't fold. You have king-queen?" Jordon said as he quickly called.
Murciano didn't have king-queen, but he did turn over 5♦5♠ for a set. Jordon had Q♥5♥ for two pair, and the 8♣ river sealed the double up for Murciano.
Inaki Angulo moved all in for 77,000 in the hijack, Pol Silva reraised to 150,000 in the cutoff, and the rest of the table got out of the way.
Inaki Angulo: A♦4♣
Pol Silva: A♠J♥
Angulo was dominated and at risk as the flop came K♦K♥7♥. The turn was the Q♣, while the 10♦ river gave Silva a straight and sent Angulo to the rail.
Ian Simpson moved all in for 142,000 in the cutoff and Marcos Paneque called in the big blind.
Ian Simpson: A♥10♥
Marcos Paneque: 7♦7♣
Simpson picked up a straight draw on the K♦4♥J♦ flop to go with his two overcards, and the Q♣ turn gave him his straight to leave Paneque drawing dead. The river was the J♠ and Simpson doubled up.
Around 200,000 was already in the middle as Pol Silva and Filip Barczak went to the turn on a board of 5♦Q♥6♦3♦. Silva then bet 110,000 from the big blind, and Barczak called under the gun.
The river was the 10♠ and Silva announced all in. Barczak, with around 470,000 remaining, snap-folded and Silva took down the big pot.
