Another Chance For Nguyen

On a flop reading {Q-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{2-Hearts} it was Minh Nguyen who moved all in for 36,000 chips. Chip leader Davor Derek was to his direct left, and he moved all in over the top. A third player tanked for a bit before folding, and Nguyen quickly found out he was in dire need of a heart.

Minh Nguyen{A-Hearts}{8-Hearts}
Davor Derek{9-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}

The turn brought the {3-Clubs}, and the river the {7-Hearts}. Nguyen hit his flush and stayed alive in the event.

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Level: 15

Ante: 500

Dinner Time!

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

The remaining players are now on a 40-minute dinner break. We will get very close, or into, the money in the next level with 41 places being paid.

Finally A Double Up For Francis

He has been involved in many pots this level, but he just finally managed to win a big one. Dean Francis ended up all in for 44,500 against Hugh Cohen, and we witnessed the following showdown.

Dean Francis{10-Spades}{10-Diamonds}
Hugh Cohen{J-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}

The board ran out {10-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{5-Spades}{9-Diamonds}, and Francis took down the pot with a set.

Chop it Up

Dean Francis was just all in again with a flop reading {K-Spades}{10-Hearts}{4-Hearts}. Francis' total shove was for 39,000 and his opponent Kyle Cheong went into the tank. After about a minute he decided to call.

Dean Francis{Q-Hearts}{J-Spades}
Kyle Cheong{Q-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}

"Running hearts?" Francis asked in his quest for a double up.

The turn brought the {A-Clubs}, and both players made a straight.

"I wish you had king-ten," Francis said with a smile, after which the river brought the {10-Clubs}. Francis would've been out if Cheong had king-ten, but be's still in as the pot was chopped up.

Slowing Down

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

The action slowed down a bunch over the course of the last level. It seems like players are aware of the approaching money bubble, but we still need to lose a bunch more before that's the case.

Another Double Up For Guzzardi

On a {J-Hearts}{3-Spades}{8-Spades} flop Dean Francis just moved all in from the big blind. Michael Guzzardi was on the button, and he called off his remaining 42,500 chips.

Michael Guzzardi{J-Spades}{4-Hearts}
Dean Francis{A-Spades}{4-Spades}

The board ran out {5-Hearts}, {3-Hearts} and Guzzardi doubled up once more. He's closing in ont he average stack again after being very short just 30 minutes ago.

Bain Busto

Tristan Bain was one of the favorites for a deep run after busting Joe Hachem, but things didn't go so well for him after that. He dropped down and just busted to Luis Arrilucea who had been struggling in the past level as well.

We just caught the end of Bain's final hand when he was all in for around 50,000 chips.

Tristan Bain{A-Spades}{10-Spades}
Luis Arrilucea{A-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}

The board ran out {Q-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{9-Spades}{7-Clubs}{4-Hearts}, and Bain hit the road.
