Nathan Gubieski finished runner-up at the most recent ANZPT Auckland Main Event.
He will not be finishing runner-up in Perth.
According to tablemate Ash Warner, Gubieski three-bet jammed for around 23,000 holding 
. James Broom had min-opened with 
and made the call. Board full of bricks and Gubieski was sent home.
With around 79 players still remaining, we are just a table or so off seeing the tournament break into a single area - here on the main gaming floor. Until then, the tournament is still split into two sections. Here are the approximate stacks of some of the notable players on the gaming floor.

Stephen Woodhead and Brian Mcallister are easily the two chip leaders and happen to be sitting at the same table. These two recently rumbled in a pot which began with Woodhead opening the hijack to 2,500. Mcallister called from the small blind and the dealer flipped over a 
flop. Mcallister check-called a bet here and a 
hit the turn. Mcallister once again check-called a bet, this time of 6,700. The board was completed with a 
and when Mcallister checked for the third time, Woodhead bet 15,500. Mcallister got out of the way.
With that, Woodhead is up to 245,000 in chips, while despite losing this hand, Mcallister is still going strong on 220,000.
The new chip leader halfway through Day 2 of the ANZPT Perth Main Event is Stephen Woodhead. He is on fellow big stack Brian Mcallister's table and has just a few thousand more than him.
Overnight chip leader Brian McAllister is continuing his winning ways here on Day 2 of the ANZPT Perth Main Event. In a recent hand, McAllister opened to 4,100 from early position. Action folded around to the short-stacked Peter Brasile in late position who moved all in for his last 15,000. The blinds folded and McAllister announced a call.
“Threes?” asked Brasile optimistically as he tabled

“Jacks,” was not the reply that Brasile wanted to hear as McAllister opened 
.
The board ran out 
to see Brasile hit the rail as McAllister moved up over 210,000 in chips.
Brandon Shim has just been eliminated at the hands of Asj Taylor. Shim moved all in preflop holding 
and ran into Taylor’s

and Shim graciously bid his tablemates farewell.
Full Tilt ANZPT Ambassador Tom Grigg couldn’t post a deep run here in the ANZPT Perth Main Event.
We didn’t catch Grigg’s elimination, but apparently it happened during the previous level. He told us he had

and got his short stack in on a 
flop. A five came on the river and Grigg was sent home.
Patrick Crivell is no longer involved in the tournament. He was short stacked and ultimately was eliminated when his 
was no match for 
when his opponent made two-pair.
Crivell, from Canada, recently finished 12th in the Aussie Millions Main Event for a $100,000 score, but won’t be winning any more cash here in Perth.
Approximately 111 players are back from their break and the cards are back in the air!
