Trips for Vakalahi

With a board reading {A-Spades}{K-Spades}{3-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{9-Clubs} and Ardmore Vakalahi smooth-calling a preflop raise and bets of 7,500 on each street, he tabled his {J-Spades}{9-Spades} to best his opponent's {A-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}.

"Bada boom!" screamed Vakalahi as he happily collected the pot to move over the 100,000-chip mark.

Grigg Soaring

Tom Grigg has just soared to the top of the leaderboard when he had an opponent all in holding {9-}{9-} to be behind Grigg's {Q-}{Q-}.

The board blanked out to see Grigg eliminate another opponent while moving to 264,000 in chips.

No Jokes Here for King

Mike King ain't laughing now!
Mike King ain't laughing now!

Normally one to make players and staff bust out in laughter, comedian Mike King has unfortunately made a dealer shed tears that weren't a result from a joke.

With his iPhone sitting on the table, the dealer called a Tournament Director over to explain that King wasn't allowed to have it on the table.

With the Tournament Director being informed that it was for music purposes only, the dealer continued that King swore at her and used a few expletives.

The Tournament Director resolved the situation and swapped the dealer out, and as the tournament on table 9 continued, the dealer in question was last seen making her way from the tournament being consoled as she wiped tears away from her eyes.

Hinrichsen Halted

Andrew Hinrichsen is no more!
Andrew Hinrichsen is no more!

Aaron Sue entered the pot with a raise to 3,500 only to have Andrew Hinrichsen three-bet to 8,000.

With the action on Servio Briones, he four-bet to 20,000 to force a fold from Sue as Hinrichsen followed by moving all in for roughly 100,000. Briones instantly made the call to take us to a showdown.

Hinrichsen: {A-}{K-}
Briones: {A-}{A-}

Unfortunately for Hinrichsen, no miracle board would fall as he was left crippled with just 10,000 as Briones soars to 200,000 in chips.

Just a few hands later, Hinrichsen committed his remaining chips holding {Q-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}, but couldn't best an opponent's {K-}{4-} to see himself hit the rail.
