Another Hit to Ward

Level 21 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Thomas Ward has fall to around 1 million in chips.

He recently opened the button to 32,000 which Nguyen called.

Both players checked the {j-Clubs}{k-Hearts}{10-Hearts} flop and then on the {8-Hearts} turn, Minh check-called a bet of 48,000.

The board completed with a {k-Spades} river and this time when Nguyen checked, Ward bet 125,000.

Nguyen called and Ward tabled {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}.

Those rockets went into the muck when Nguyen showed his {k-Clubs}{5-Hearts} for trip kings.

First Hand Of Heads Up Play

Level 21 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Thomas Ward raised to 30,000 from the button and Minh Nguyen called.

The flop came down {8-Spades}{a-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} and Nguyen checked. Ward threw out a continuation bet of 40,000 which was called before both players opted to check on the {a-Spades} turn.

The {3-Hearts} completed the board and Nguyen led out for 101,000 in chips. Ward thought for a minute before making the call. Nguyen then tabled his {a-Clubs}{5-Clubs} for trip aces which was good enough to take down the pot as Ward mucked his cards.

William Rogers - 4th Place
William Rogers - 4th Place

William Rogers has hit the rail in third place and so we are down to heads-up within four hours of the final table beginning!

Rogers' last hand saw his short stack all in from the big blind against Thomas Ward in the small blind.

Rogers had {k-Spades}{10-Hearts} which was in good shape against Ward's {6-Clubs}{4-Clubs}.

However, the {6-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{9-Spades} flop gave Ward two pair and it was bleak times for Rogers.

The {7-Clubs} turn and {j-Diamonds} river didn't help Rogers and so he hit the rail with NZ$47,100.

It's now Ward versus Nguyen heads-up for the title.

The two players will be having a short break before cards are in the air for heads-up play.
