Aweida and Rule Out; Wu and Reinbold In

Level 5 : 300/500, 500 ante
Sammy Aweida
Sammy Aweida

"Alternate seat on Table 9!" was overheard from the dealer as Sammy Aweida found himself becoming the second player eliminated in the day. According to tablemates Jason Welch and Vincent Griboski, Aweida got his stack of around 16,000 in preflop over a few limpers and saw Griboski give him action behind.

Sammy Aweida: {a-Spades}{q-Hearts}
Vincent GriboskI: {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts}

Aweida, who earned his seat via a top-five finish in the CPC Points Leader Board, was unable to hit a three outer on the runout and was knocked out as a result. Sherman Wu then took the vacant seat, becoming the 27th player to enter the tournament.

Moments later, Steven Rule was eliminated on Table 8 as well, with Zachary Reinbold filling his seat to take the field up to 28.

Konarske Over Six Figures

Level 5 : 300/500, 500 ante
Eddy Konarske

There was over 30,000 in the middle and four players still holding cards in front of themselves on a completed board of {q-Spades}{8-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}. Michael Giardina bet 20,000 in the small blind and Ben Keeline thought for a bit before folding in the big blind. Eddy Konarske then called in middle position and Steve Rule also found a call on the button for a three-way showdown.

Rule showed {a-Clubs}{10-Hearts} and Giardina announced a straight as he turned over {10-Hearts}{9-Clubs}, but both were bested by the {k-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds} of Konarske, whose nuts earned him the pot to take him up to a six-figure stack.

"Nice pot, sir," said tablemate Salim Wahdan.

"Thank you!" responded Konarske, stacking his chips as he did so.

Giardina Makes Three Threes

Level 5 : 300/500, 500 ante

Josh Saltz opened the action with a raise to 1,300 in early position and saw action fold around to Salim Wahdan, who was on the button and called. Steven Rule called in the small blind as well, as did Michael Giardina in the big blind.

All four players checked to {3-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{3-Clubs}, where action checked to Wahdan and he bet 2,600. Rule folded and then Giardina announced a call. Saltz called behind as well, taking action three handed to the river {9-Hearts} where another bet was not put in before the hand went to showdown.

First to act, Giardina tabled {3-Spades}{2-Spades} for trip threes and neither player could top it, earning him the pot after his pair of opponents mucked.

Salim Wahdan open-limped in middle position and Michael Giardina limped behind in the cutoff. Ben Keeline raised to 2,700 on the button and was three-bet to 8,000 by Josh Williamson in the big blind, Wahdan and Giardia then folded and Keeline four-bet shoved for 11,100 with Williams wasting no time calling to send the two off to the races.

Ben Keeline: {a-Spades}{k-Spades}
Josh Williamson: {9-Diamonds}{9-Spades}

Keeline was in a coin-flip situation for his tournament life and found no help on both the flop {3-Hearts}{3-Spades}{q-Diamonds} and turn {4-Clubs}. Luckily for him, the river fell {k-Diamonds} to improve him beyond Williamson's pocket nines and score him the dub.

Frei Adds To His Stack

Level 4 : 200/400, 400 ante

Thomas Fuller raised to 1,000 under the gun and Rich Dixon called one seat over. Action folded around to Aaron Frei in the big blind, who announced a three-bet to 4,200. Both Fuller and Dixon called.

The flop fell {6-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{4-Clubs} and Frei continuation-bet 6,000. Fuller thought for just shy of 30 seconds and then sent his cards to the muck, and DIxon then peeled his cards up before continuing the motion and folding {k-Spades}{q-Spades} face-up.

The Ladies Love Eddy Konarske

Level 4 : 200/400, 400 ante

Eddy Konarske opened to 1,200 in early position and saw calls from Salim Wahdan in the hijack, Steven Rule in the cutoff, and Ben Keeline in the small blind as action made its way around the table.

The dealer fanned a flop of {9-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{4-Hearts} and Keeline checked to Konarske, who continuation-bet 3,000. Wahdan folded and Rule called, sending action back to Keeline, who check-raised to 9,400. Konarske came over the top, three-bet jamming for 20,300 and got a fold from Rule after some deliberation. Keeline then thought for a few moments himself and put out chips to call.

Eddy Konarske: {q-Spades}{q-Clubs}
Ben Keeline: {k-Clubs}{9-Clubs}

Konarske's queens were ahead of Keeline's top pair and he was able to fade the five outer on the turn {7-Diamonds} and river {10-Diamonds} to secure the double.
