Tough Table

Level 3 : 100/200, 0 ante

After the first break plenty of late registered players sat down and both Paul Berende and Marc Andre Ladouceur were among those. Berende sat down in Seat 10 while Ladouceur took the seat opposite of the dealer. Together with Pierre Neuville, Antoine Saout and Alex Bilokur we can call this one of the toughest tables in the room.

Gulyy Loses One

Level 3 : 100/200, 0 ante

Robert Laute opened to 500 from middle position only to be three-bet by Yury Gulyy to 1,200 from the button. It came back around to Laute and he flat called.

The flop brought {A-Spades}{A-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} and Laute check-called 1,500. Both players checked the {5-Spades} on the turn and the {6-Diamonds} on the river. Gulyy showed {K-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} for king-high but was ultimately behind the {J-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} of Laute. Laute boosted his stack to about 44,500 while Gulyy has fallen to 26,000.

A Win and a Massage

Level 3 : 100/200, 0 ante

Board: {8-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}

There was roughly 18,000 in the pot, Khanali Allahverdiyev fired out 11,225, and Artem Litvinov went deep into the tank. He eventually grabbed a handful of chips and slammed them onto the felt, making the call, and Allahverdiyev shook his head unhappily.

He showed {k-Hearts}{q-Clubs} for a pure bluff, prompting Litvinov to angrily table {k-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} for a winning flush. He then stood up and began massaging the dealer as she pushed the pot in front of his seat.

Litvinov Growing

Level 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

We got to Artem Litvinov's table to find the 2012 EPT Sanremo Main Event third-place finisher heads up in a pot.

The board read {4-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{2-Clubs} and Litvinov's opponent checked. Litvinov checked back and the {7-Clubs} hit the river. Another check to Litvinov prompted a bet of 875. His opponent called by ultimately mucked when Litvinov showed {A-Clubs}{6-Spades} for sixes and deuces.

Litvinov is now sitting on about 38,500 in chips.

Sarwer Bluffs to No Avail

Level 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

Jeff Sarwer and an opponent on his direct left were heads up on a flop of {q-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{5-Clubs}. Sarwer led out from the small blind for 400, and his opponent called.

The turn was a fourth club - the {3-Clubs} - and Sarwer fired another 900. The player quickly called.

Both players knuckled when the {4-Hearts} fell on the river, and Sarwer showed {9-Diamonds}{7-Spades} for nine-high. The player tabled {q-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} for a flopped two pair, and took down the pot.

Sarwer still remains above the starting stack with around 32,000 chips.

The Broken and the Penalised

Level 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

Surprisingly Alexander Isenberg, Emanoil Savin and Igor Pihela are the only players to have busted through the first two levels of the day.

It's hard to bust when you're not at the table though. Andreas Bolling fell foul of the rules on two front and subsequently had to sit out for an orbit. First of all he flashed his cards to an opponent and then he checked behind on the river with the nuts. Naughty boy.

Phahurat Fighting

Level 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

A player in middle position limped in, AP Phahurat called on his direct left, and Florence Allera bumped it up to 625 from the cutoff. Both the limper and Phahurat called.

The dealer fanned {10-Spades}{5-Clubs}{k-Clubs}, and the action checked to Allera who continued for 2,100 - more than a pot-sized bet. The limper folded, and Phahurat check-jammed for just under 5,000. To Phahurat's surprise, Allera tank-folded.

The American, who took a big hit to start the day, has climbed back up to around 10,000 chips.
