Muehloecker Doubles Through Badziakouski

Level 8 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Thomas Muehloecker was moved to a new table that now also included Salman Behbehani and then got his stack in preflop with the {A-Spades}{A-Diamonds} for 105,000. Mikita Badziakouski had three-bet and called the four-bet shove of his opponent to reveal {Q-Spades}{Q-Clubs} in the showdown.

The board ran out {K-Spades}{10-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{3-Clubs} and Muehloecker doubled.

Thorel's Run Continues

Level 8 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Piotr Franczak just went into the tournament not long ago and then got his stack in with {Q-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}. Jean-Noel Thorel looked him up with the {A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds} and won the flip thanks to the {K-Clubs}{2-Spades}{J-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} board.

The Fast and the Furious

Level 8 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

There were many "seat open" announcements by the dealers after the new level had just kicked in and among those to depart were Antonio Buonanno, Daniel Dvoress, Mike McDonald and Salman Behbehani. Some of them might be back in action soon, Dvoress won't.

The Canadian got into a raising war with Vladimir Troyanovskiy and four-bet from the button to 45,000. Troyanovskiy then five-bet jammed for effectively 128,000 and Dvoress called all in with {A-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}. Troyanovskiy had the {A-Spades}{J-Spades} and found a jack on the flop.

Break - Chip Race!

Level 7 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante

The players are off on a 15-minute break with seven levels in the books. The tournament staff is also racing off and removing the 100-denimination chips.

Wheeler Busts Chen

Level 7 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante

The board was already spread with {2-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{J-Hearts}{7-Hearts} and the cards of Andrew Chen were in the muck, Jason Wheeler claimed his stack with the {Q-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}. "Do you want to know the full hand history?" Wheeler asked and then filled in the details. Keven Stammen had raised and was called by Wheeler, Ivan Luca and Chen who defended his big blind.

On the flop, Chen check-raised all in for 62,000 with {5-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} after the continuation bet worth 11,000 by Stammen and the calls of the other two players. "Then, Keven (Stammen) asked for a count and quickly folded", Wheeler said and the whole table burst out in laughter. Wheeler did make the call though to turn the better hand and hold up on the river.

Next to Chen is Ricardo Alvarado, who also already more than doubled up his initial stack.

Holz Pounces

Level 7 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante

Young German superstar, 2014 PokerStars WCOOP champ and the latest player forced to take out a restraining order on ESPN's Norman Chad after his deep run in the 2015 WSOP Main Event earned him a ton of TV time and a new stalker, Fedor Holz made it 7,000 from the cutoff.

Oleksii Khoroshenin bumped it up to 17,000 on the button.

The blinds folded and Holz made the call, sending them heads up to a {k-Spades}{10-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} flop. Holz check-called a 13,000-chip bet from Khoroshenin and the {6-Hearts} turn paired the board. Both players checked.

Holz pounced on the {9-Hearts} river, however, leading out for 25,200, which amounted to roughly half of Khoroshenin's stack. Khoroshenin folded and Chad was heard giggling like a school girl somewhere back in the United States.

The Tournament is Over; Urbanovich is in

Level 7 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante

Serial EPT event winner Dzmitry Urbanovich joined the field and that is an immediate threat to basically all the other players. He already scooped one EPT trophy here on Malta again while a few other participants bowed out recently.

Ivan Luca and Scott Seiver busted, then purchased their second bullet to join the field again. The screens currently show 17 reentries and 112 entries in total.

Buonanno Stacks Dvoress Again

Level 7 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante

Shortly after the previous double up, Daniel Dvoress opened the button to 7,500 and Antonio Buonanno defended from the big blind to check-raise the flop {K-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} with {J-}{3-}. Dvoress more than happily called for 69,200 with {A-Diamonds}{K-Spades} and held up as the board completed with the {8-Hearts} turn and {A-Clubs} river.
