Kenney Cracks Aces to Double Up

Level 8 : 2,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

Pascal Hartmann opened to 11,000 in middle position and Sergio Aido three-bet to 35,000 in the cutoff. Bryn Kenney four-bet shoved all in for 201,000 in the big blind and Hartmann pushed all in over the top. Aido gave it some thought but decided to lay his hand down.

The flop came {10-Spades}{9-Clubs}{8-Spades} to give Kenney a set of nines and the lead. The turn was the {q-Spades} and the river was the {3-Hearts} to secure the double up for Kenney.

Soyza Busts to Thorel

Michael Soyza opened to 11,000 and Matthias Eibinger called. Jean-Noel Thorel three-bet to 55,000 on the button and Soyza called. Eibinger folded.

The flop {8-Clubs}{q-Spades}{2-Diamonds} saw Soyza check-call 75,000 and the turn was the {7-Hearts}. Both players checked.

The river was the {9-Diamonds}. Soyza moved all in for 175,000 and Thorel snap-called. Soyza showed {a-Clubs}{q-Diamonds} for top pair, but Thorel had rivered the nuts with {j-Hearts}{10-Hearts} and eliminated Soyza.

Soyza immediately re-entered.

Bertrand Grospellier raised it up on the button and Seth Davies stuck in a three-bet to 35,000 from the small blind. Grospellier called and the two players saw a flop of {q-Spades}{j-Spades}{6-Diamonds}.

Davies led out for 16,000 and Grospellier flicked in a call. The turn was the {k-Spades} and Davies made another small bet of 27,000. This time, Grospellier gave up his hand and Davies raked in the pot.

Burns All But Doubles Through Soyza

Kahle Burns opened to 11,000 and Michael Soyza raised to 34,000. Burns called. Both players checked the {q-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} flop and the turn was the {2-Clubs}. Burns bet 30,000 and Soyza called.

The river was the {9-Clubs} and Burns thought before betting 226,000 leaving just 1,000 behind. Soyza eventually called. Burns showed {k-Hearts}{q-Diamonds} and Soyza showed {j-Clubs}{q-Hearts}.

"I'm not all in," said Burns, wiggling the solitary chip he had behind.

Kisacikoglu Shuts Down After the Flop

Daniel Dvoress raised to 9,000 in early position and was called by Juan Pardo in the hijack. Orpen Kisacikoglu three-bet to 34,000 on the button and only Pardo called.

The flop came {9-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} and Pardo checked to Kisacikoglu who continued for 21,000. Pardo called and the {q-Spades} landed on the turn. Both players checked and the {j-Spades} completed the board. Pardo used a time extension before tapping the table and Kisacikoglu elected to check it back. Pardo tabled {5-Hearts}{5-Clubs} and Kisacikoglu dumped his cards in the muck.
