Back-to-Back Eliminations for Sinclair

Level 7 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante
Jack Sinclair
Jack Sinclair

Jack Sinclair defended his big blind after Samuel Gillis raised to 2,000 in the small blind. The flop was {9-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{2-Spades} and Gillis bet 2,500. Sinclair called.

The turn was the {5-Hearts} and Gillis checked. Sinclair bet 7,500 and called a shove from Gillis for over 20,000.

Samuel Gillis: {k-Spades}{k-Clubs}
Jack Sinclair: {7-Hearts}{2-Hearts}

Gillis was drawing dead against Sinclair's turned flush, with the {j-Diamonds} river sending him to the rail.

On the following hand, Sinclair three-bet after a raise and a call in front of him and three players saw the {9-Clubs}{9-Spades}{5-Hearts} flop. They all checked and Sinclair bet 7,000 on the {q-Clubs} turn. Lukas Zaskodny was the only caller.

The river was the {8-Spades} and Sinclair shoved. Zaskodny had around 22,000 behind and muttered something across the table before calling.

Sinclair showed {5-Spades}{5-Diamonds} for a flopped full house, with Zaskodny showing {j-Spades}{10-Spades} for a rivered nut straight.

"Is that two in two since you joined the table?" asked probable tournament chip leader Ian Drake.

"No, I folded one," replied Sinclair with a smile.

O'Neill Overbets Abernathy

Level 7 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante

Samantha Abernathy opened to 1,600 in middle position and got three callers to see a flop of {7-Spades}{2-Clubs}{9-Spades}.

Abernathy continued for 3,000 on the flop and two players called, including Jack O'Neill on the button. Abernathy then checked on the {q-Clubs} turn and O'Neill bet 6,000. Only Abernathy called.

The river brought the {3-Spades} and Abernathy again checked. O`Neil took a moment and set out a stack of blue chips worth 35,000, for yet another river overbet here on Day 1a. Abernathy laid it down.

One player opened and Dan Djorno three-bet all in for around 21,000. Alexis Laroche was in the big blind and four-bet all in for more, with the initial raiser folding.

Dan Djorno: {a-Spades}{j-Hearts}
Alexis Laroche: {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs}

The board came {k-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{4-Spades}{3-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} with Djorno eliminated.

Nixon check-called 4,500 and the river was the {2-Clubs}. Nixon checked again and Reardon bet 16,700. Nixon contemplated before eventually calling.

"Good call," said Reardon tabling {j-Spades}{5-Spades} for jack-high. Nixon showed {k-Spades}{7-Spades} and won the pot.

Level 6 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante

Schillhabel checked again on the {10-Spades} turn and Sinclair again checked back. The river brought the {j-Clubs} to put a straight on the board and Schillhabel put out a big overbet worth 15,000, which was met with a snap-fold from Sinclair.

Running Cards Send Bellan to the Rail

Level 6 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante

Simon Bellan was all in for only 5,000 against Tibor Nagygyorgy, but was ahead holding {a-Spades}{q-Diamonds} against the {a-Clubs}{8-Clubs} of his Hungarian opponent.

The flop {7-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} changed nothing, but running clubs {j-Clubs}{k-Clubs} saw Nagygyorgy river a flush and eliminate Bellan.
