Farrell Won't Fold; Pays Off Soenmez

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

The action started with a raise to 25,000 by Niall Farrell and Erkan Soenmez was the only caller in the cutoff. On the {9-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{7-Clubs} flop, both players checked and Farrell bet the {8-Diamonds} turn for 50,000 in order for Soenmez to call.

Farrell then checked the {5-Clubs} on the river and called a bet worth 85,000 by Soenmez, who tabled the {j-Spades}{j-Diamonds} for jacks and eights as the winning hand.

Conan Finds Help to Double Through Satubayev

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Arthur Conan
Arthur Conan

Over on the featured table, Shyngis Satubayev opened to 25,000 on the button and Arthur Conan moved all-in for 234,000 in the big blind. Satubayev called.

Arthur Conan: {k-Hearts}{3-Hearts}
Shyngis Satubayev: {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs}

Conan was behind but had live cards, and the {k-Clubs}{8-Spades}{3-Spades} flop put him way ahead with two pair. The {4-Diamonds} turn locked up the pot for him as the meaningless {2-Clubs} completed the board.

Schemion Eliminated by Cristiani

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Ole Schemion
Ole Schemion

Jean Cristiani opened to 25,000 from the hijack and Ole Schemion shoved for 298,000 in the small blind. Action folded back to Cristiani who called.

Ole Schemion: {6-Spades}{6-Hearts}
Jean Cristiani: {j-Spades}{j-Hearts}

Schemion ran into Cristiani's superior pocket pair, and the {8-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} runout provided no help to send Schemion to the rail in 41st place.

Gomez Zapatero Vanishes on Outer Tables

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Javier Gomez Zapatero
Javier Gomez Zapatero

Just before the upcoming break, Javier Gomez Zapatero was involved in a bigger pot with Danut Chisu in which his {8-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} flopped a set on the {k-Spades}{9-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{x-Spades}{a-Spades} board. He left 5,000 chips behind on the river and Chisu's {j-Spades}{9-Spades} made a flush to chip up significantly.

Gomez Zapatero bowed out in the very next hand against Ferenc Deak, who then kept up the aggression with his big stack. Chisu opened and called a three-bet to 75,000 by Deak from the very next seat. On the {4-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} flop, Chisu opted to check-call for 40,000 and checked again the {10-Hearts} turn.

Deak now bet 85,000 and Chisu sent his cards into the muck.

Andrian Eliminated by Cardot

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Simone Andrian
Simone Andrian

Simone Andrian pushed a short stack from the cutoff and was looked up by Yannick Cardot from one seat over on the button to create the following showdown.

Simone Andrian: {3-Hearts}{3-Clubs}
Yannick Cardot: {a-Spades}{j-Spades}

The {6-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{2-Clubs} flop kept Andrian in the lead but Cardot improved on the {j-Hearts} turn, the {10-Diamonds} river then changed nothing anymore to eliminate Andrian in 43rd place.

Lucas Sfez

Lucas Sfez was seen leaving the table on his way to the payout desk with a big pot in the middle and {10-Spades}{5-Spades}{8-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} on the board. Sfez had shoved with the {3-Clubs}{2-Clubs} of clubs but he ran into the {9-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} straight of Morten Hvam and Hvam took all of his chips.

Hvam is on a big run today with just over 2,000,000 as the tournament nears its second break.

Shyngis Satubayev: {6-Hearts}{6-Clubs}
Ole Schemion: {a-Clubs}{j-Spades}

The {10-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{5-Spades} board ran out all low cards and Satubayev secured the double.

Grieco Barrels Twice to Chip Up

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

In a battle big blind versus button, a three-bet pot emerged between Nicola Grieco and Marcelo Simoes. Grieco led the {k-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} flop for 45,000 and Simoes called. They headed to the {8-Clubs} turn on which Grieco instantly bet 100,000.

Simoes verified the bet size and folded.

Two hands later, Grieco jammed the button into two shorter stacks and forced folds from Daniel Golder and Simone Andrian.

"Ace king is good?" he asked in Italian and flashed the {k-Hearts}.

"You only showed the king," Andrian joked back with a smile on the face.
