Medjahed Goes Runner-Runner to Eliminate Michelet

Level 10 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Abdelkader Medjahed
Abdelkader Medjahed

Abdelkader Medjahed opened from under the gun and Nelson Michelet three-bet jammed a stack of 17,000 from the small blind. Medjahed called with a bigger stack.

Nelson Michelet: 108
Abdelkader Medjahed: 33

Michelet stood up from his seat anticipating a bustout, but sat back down when the dealer fanned the flop of 7J9 to give him the nut straight and have Medjahed drawing to just a runner-runner full house or quads.

That's exactly what happened as the dealer first put down the 3 on the turn and then the J on the river to send Michelet to the rail in an unbelievable fashion. A look at a poker odds calculator shows that Medjahed was less than 3% to win the hand once the flop came down.

Zegour Three-Bets Patois

Level 9 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

A middle position player limped in before Jean-Baptiste Patois raised to 5,000 from the cutoff. Selim Zegour then three-bet to 11,900 from the button and both the limper and Patois folded.

At the same table, famed psychology and poker writer Maria Konnikova sits with a stack of around 40,000.

Minolfi Gets Fortunate Runout To Send Falfoul To The Rail

Level 9 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

In a heads-up pot with 13,200 in the middle on a board showing 753, Luigi Minolfi bet out 12,000 from early position and Mourad Falfoul moved all in next to act for just over 40,000.

Minolfi went deep in the tank and after having the clock called, eventually made the call to put Falfoul at risk.

Mourad Falfoul: 99
Luigi Minolfi: 66

Falfoul was well ahead with his overpair, but when the board ran out 24, it was the rivered straight that scored the pot for Minolfi and sent Falfoul to the rail.

Oldak Puts Pressure On Dimitrov

Level 9 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Thierry Oldak opened to 2,400 from early position and only Stefan Dimitrov made the call in the big blind.

The flop came K96 and Dimitrov check-called a bet of 2,400 from Oldak. On the 2 turn Dimitrov checked again and Oldak sized to 6,300, which Dimitrov called.

The 10 hit the river and Dimitrov checked a third time. Oldak cut out a bet of 11,300 and Dimitrov took a few seconds before tossing his cards into the muck.

Caza Hides and Takes a Pot

Level 8 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Marco Caza
Marco Caza

Marco Caza opened to 2,200 from under the gun and Samuel Bifarella gave him a stare from the next seat, leading Caza to jokingly hide his face beneath his shirt. Bifarella called, as did Ronald Steinmetz on the button and the player in the big blind.

The big blind checked on the Q6J flop and Caza continued for 4,700. Only Steinmetz called. Caza then sized up to 6,500 on the K turn, which was enough to bring a fold from his opponent.
