Sammartino Shows the Nuts

Level 8 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante
Dario Sammartino
Dario Sammartino

Luis Faria and Dario Sammartino were trying to conquer a 20,000 pot. The completed board read Q10679 and Faria checked to Sammartino.

Sammartino then sent 18,000 chips to the middle, which puzzled Faria. After some time elapsed, he came up with the call, and immediately got the bad news that Sammartino was holding the nut straight with his KJ.

A swingy day for Sammartino so far, but he is now sitting comfortable on twice starting stack.

Samoylov Successfully Calls

Level 8 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante

Roman Samoylov raised to 2,000 from the cutoff before button Natan Chauskin made it 6,200 to go. Samoylov called and a flop of J43 was dealt.

Samoylov check-called the 2,000 bet from Chauskin on the flop, and did the same for the 6,500 bet on the 6 turn.

The Q fell on the river and a third check followed from Samoylov. Chauskin quickly bet 16,000 and Samoylov needed some thinking time.

After spending one time bank chip, he made the call and Chauskin could only show ace-high with his A10. Samoylov flopped a pair of jacks with his AJ and rightfully held on until the end. WIth this pot, he has now passed the 100,000 chip mark.

Dashti Takes One Off Mateos

Level 8 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante

Adrian Mateos opened the action to 1,800 from the cutoff and only Ghanim Dashti came along on the button.

On the flop of AK2, both players checked their options to the 6 turn. Mateos checked again and Dashti tossed out a bet of 1,600, which Mateos called.

The 4 completed the board and Mateos checked a third time to Dashti who announced a bet of 2,500. Mateos took his time before eventually making the fold and the pot was sent to Dashti.

Lyubovetskiy Could Not Talk Himself Out of It

Level 8 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante

Andriy Lyubovetskiy and Philip Sternheimer arrived on the river in a pot worth 17,000 chips. Lyubovetskiy had bet 6,000 from early position on a board of 104A32 and Sternheimer put out a raise to 16,000.

Lyubovetskiy laid all seven of his time bank chips in front of him and the dealer was taking them one by one as his time slowly dwindled down. With just one time chip remaining, he put in the chips for a call.

He got shown the 55 of Sternheimer, who could make a straight with either card. No wheel for Lyubovetskiy as he passed his cards to the dealer as well.
