Assorted Counts in the Field

Level 12 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Petriv Takes from Petrified Guilbert

Level 12 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Johan Guilbert was out of position in a heads-up pot against Stanislav Petriv and got to the river with the board reading {q-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{7-Hearts}{10-Clubs}.

While the full river action was unclear, Petriv had bet 25,000 to send Guilbert into a statue-like pose that he held for over a minute. After breaking the pose to adjust his sunglasses and baseball cap, Guilbert announced "all in" before Petriv snapped him off for a total of 45,500.

Guilbert showed {q-Spades}{j-Diamonds} for a flopped two pair, but it was no good against the {a-Hearts}{k-Spades} of Petriv for a flopped Broadway straight.

Ivarsson Takes from Alilovic

Level 12 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Alexander Ivarsson opened to 4,000 on the button and Miroslav Alilovic defended out of the small blind, while the big blind also came along.

The blinds checked on the flop of {k-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} and Ivarsson bet 6,000. Only Alilovic called. Alilovic checked again on he {6-Clubs} turn and Ivarsson checked back.

Alilovic checked again on the {9-Clubs} turn and Ivarsson sized up to 17,000. Alilovic let it go.

Schulze and Zereg Among Next Casualties

Level 12 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

On the tail end of a heads-up pot to the {a-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{3-Spades}{2-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} river, Renat Bohdanov had the best of it with the {8-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} for a wheel. Sebastian Schulze had committed his last 35,000 behind and flashed the {a-Hearts}{a-Spades} for a set of aces before quickly departing from the tournament area.

One table over, Youssef Zereg suffered the same fate when his {6-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} were outflipped by paint cards of Tom-Aksel Bedell.

Nurzynski Beats Miegel in Showdown

Level 12 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Until the {a-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{k-Spades} river, a pot of around 60,000 emerged between Jakob Miegel in the big blind and former EPT Barcelona Main Event champion Piotr Nurzynski on the button.

Miegel had silently checked and Nurzynski was in a brief tank before he inquired "he checked?" with the dealer. Miegel instantly confirmed that and Nurzynski knuckled it back to get shown the {9-Clubs}{6-Spades} for a missed gutshot by the German.

Nurzynski had that beat with the {a-Spades}{5-Hearts} and closed the gap to Miegel with both players now holding average stacks in the second level of the day.

In a reraised preflop pot, the flop came {j-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{4-Spades}. Evgenii Fidchuk shoved the flop for his remaining chips and Victoria Livschitz called.

Evgenii Fidchuk: {6-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}
Victoria Livschitz: {9-Hearts}{9-Spades}

Livschitz was ahead with her higher pocket pair. The turn came the {2-Diamonds} and the river was the {4-Diamonds}. Livschitz held and Fidchuk was eliminated from the tournament.

Montone Back Above the Average

Level 12 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Diego Montone had defended the big blind against Erwann Pecheux and there wasn't much action happening until the {9-Clubs}{8-Spades}{7-Spades}{9-Hearts}{7-Clubs} river, on which Montone bet 8,000. A curious Pecheux called after a few seconds and mucked when he was shown the {9-Spades}{2-Spades} for a full house.

Walter Treccarichi called a bet worth 11,000 on the {k-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} flop against Valeriano Toledano and the {7-Clubs} followed on the turn. Toledano now pushed all-in for 45,000 and Treccarichi asked for a count to then fold.
