Gruissem Over 300K

Level 14 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante
Philip Sternheimer
Philip Sternheimer

From the hijack seat, Govert Metaal raised to 10,000. Philipp Gruissem reraised to 18,000 on the button, and action folded back to Metaal. He made the call, and the dealer produced the {A-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{3-Clubs} flop. Metaal checked, Gruissem bet 16,000, and Metaal called.

The turn was the {5-Clubs}, and both players checked to see the {J-Spades} fall on the river. Both players checked again.

Gruissem showed the {A-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} for top pair of aces. Metaal couldn't produce better and mucked his hand.

Haxton Busts to Metaal

Level 14 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Govert Metaal has eliminated the dangerous Isaac Haxton to rise to 145,000 chips.

Metaal was under the gun and Haxton was in the big blind. The two had made it to the river of a {q-Clubs}{8-Spades}{k-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{3-Spades} board.

Metaal set Haxton all in with {j-Spades}{j-Diamonds} for set, way ahead of Haxton's {q-Hearts}{6-Spades}.

The PokerStars Team Online member now has to ready himself for the biggest cash game he's ever played in. News is that the €1,000,000 minimun buy-in cash game looks very likely to go ahead!

Benny Spinning Down

Level 13 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante

Benny Spindler was moved to a new table and continued his recent negative chip trend.

He opened to 6,000 from under the gun and was called in two spots en route to an {8-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{5-Clubs} flop. The action checked to Nadar Kakhmazov on the button who bet 7,600. Spindler was the only caller to the {6-Spades} turn where both players checked.

On the {4-Spades} river Spindler led for 32,500 but had to fold when Kakhmazov shoved for around 80,000.
