Tricky Flop for El Qmache

Level 3 : 100/200, 200 ante

There was a cutoff open and Rachid El Qmache upped it in position. It was called and the two players saw a flop of {10-Hearts}{a-Clubs}{3-Clubs}.

El Qmache opted to check it back at this point and the dealer put a {5-Spades} out on the turn. The player in the cutoff led for 2,000 and El Qmache quickly called, with the final card coming the {2-Diamonds}.

This time it went check-check and El Qmache turned over {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}, which was good for the chips.

Padilha Eliminates Polkinghorne

Level 3 : 100/200, 200 ante

Just a few hands later and "seat open" is heard coming from the direction of Table 2. It has certainly been the most action-heavy table so far today and now it sees yet another player departing. Though PokerNews didn't see the action, it is clear that Ryan Polkinghorne has lost the remainder of his chips to Celso Padilha, who is stacking up a very decent-sized pile of chips. That pot takes his stack up to six figures.

Padilha Puts Pressure on Polkinghorne

Level 3 : 100/200, 200 ante

Ryan Polkinghorne is back in the game after taking a shot yesterday but failing to progress. He was in a heads up pot against Celso Padilha over on table two and by the turn, there was already 20,000 in the pot.

The board read {k-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{3-Hearts} and Polkinghorne checked to Padilha, who made it 12,700 to play. Polkinghorne used a time-bank card before electing to fold and Padilha continues to build a stack after his double up in the first level of the day.

Flushing Board Sees One Go

Level 2 : 100/100, 100 ante

There were three players facing a {9-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{2-Spades} board on the turn and Dante Matei checked from the big blind position. Next to act was Edgar Drozdov, who bet 3,500 sat in the under-the-gun position. Over to Jay Patel on the cutoff and he flat called, before it came back to Matei. He wasted no time moving all in, much to the dislike of Drozdov.

He used a time-bank card whilst mulling over his decision out loud. "It doesn't make sense," he said whilst shaking his head. It spooked him enough to pass but Patel was going nowhere and made the call.

Dante Matei: {7-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}
Jay Patel: {3-Clubs}{3-Spades}

Set vs flush and Patel was looking for a pair on the board. It wasn't to be though and he hit the rail when the {k-Hearts}. Not to be deterred he was seen heading back over the registration desk as it looks like he'll have another go.

Drozdov Finds Rockets

Level 2 : 100/100, 100 ante

After busting just a short while ago, Edgar Drozdov has been on the right side of an elimination after taking out an opponent with {a-Spades}{a-Hearts}. All the chips went in preflop and up against {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}, Drozdov was in excellent shape. It was all over by the {10-Hearts}{9-Spades}{5-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} turn, with the {5-Diamonds} irrelevant and things are looking up for Drozdov.

El Qmache Takes From Matei

Level 1 : 100/100, 0 ante

Rachid El Qmache raised to 500 on the button over two limpers and Dante Matei called in the big blind, as did the two limpers. There was no action on the {j-Spades}{7-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} flop and they headed to the turn.

It was the {k-Hearts} and Matei led for 200, and after two calls, El Qmache raised it to 2,200, which only Matei called.

On the {3-Hearts} river, Matei checked and thought about calling the 3,000 bet before deciding better of it and passing.

Another Elimination on Table 2

Level 1 : 100/100, 0 ante

The action continues with the second elimination in less than a short-handed orbit over on table two. This time it is Celso Padilha who is riding high in the counts, after getting it all in on the river with {q-Clubs}{j-Hearts} against Edgar Drozdov who held {a-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} on a {6-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{8-Spades}{10-Clubs}{9-Clubs} board.
