Kassa Bluffs it All

Level 6 : 300/600, 600 ante

The {6-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{j-Clubs} board was out and there was at least 50,000 in the middle. Getnet Kassa (first to act) used a couple of time-bank cards before declaring his all in for 43,000. His opponent looked bewildered as he used all of his own time bank cards before reluctantly folding. Kassa kindly relayed the rest of the action to PokerNews as he stacked his newly-acquired chips.

Kassa had limped preflop and called a raise. On the flop, he check-raised as he put his opponent on ace-king and had the intention of trying to take the pot by repping big. He was called. On the turn, he barreled and his opponent flat-called again.

Kassa told PokerNews that he had ace-high with {a-Hearts}{8-Hearts} in the hole and continued his line by setting the rest in on the river. He is now closing in on a six-figure stack as a result of that hand.

Former Platinum Pass Winner Salvatore Donato in the House

Level 6 : 300/600, 600 ante
Salvatore Donato (at a previous event)
Salvatore Donato (at a previous event)

Salvatore Donato won a Platinum Pass at an event at the Hippodrome Casino in 2018. Almost a year ago to the day, Donato took down a £660 PokerStars Megastack tournament in London, netting £49,146 (a career-best result) for the win and securing himself a passport to the PSPC Bahamas event in the process.

Sat wearing an EPT Monte Carlo shirt on Table 2, Donato's love of the game is clear. He has just re-entered after busting earlier but that hasn't dampened his smile or his enthusiasm, with the Italian ready to continue his campaign to win a second coveted Platinum Pass to the PSPC 2020, which will take place in Barcelona next year.

Nitel Finds Rockets

Level 5 : 200/400, 400 ante

Rungarun Thongnonsung was playing from the button and Victor Nitel was sat two to her left in the big blind. The two players ended up getting it all in preflop and Nitel, who was down to just 8,500 at the start of the hand, was the favorite, finding pocket rockets just when he needed them.

Victor Nitel: {a-Diamonds}{a-Spades}
Rungarun Thongnonsung: {k-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}

The cards ran out {3-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{3-Spades}{2-Diamonds} and it was all over for Thongnonsung by the turn. She is now left short, whilst Nitel's stack is up to over 45 big blinds.

Kassa on the Up

Level 5 : 200/400, 400 ante

Getnet Kassa and Jai Patel were heads up on the river with the completed board reading {j-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{j-Spades}.

Patel checked to Kassa, who made it 5,100 to see his cards. Patel called but mucked upon seeing Kassa had turned the flush with {q-Hearts}{3-Hearts}.

Sohel out

Level 4 : 100/300, 300 ante

Mohammed Sohel has been unable to spin up his short stack and hits the rail after losing with ace-five to Irini Nikolaidi's king-queen. If the previous flights are anything to go by, Sohel is likely to re-enter.
