Breviglieri Busts Out

Level 21 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

The last of the partypoker pros, Natalia Breviglieri, has just bust Grand Prix Austria.

As her stack started to dwindle, she made her move with {k-}{j-} running into {a-}{5-} and failing to improve. She told us her plan now is to head back to the hotel and put in a long Sunday tournament session in on partypoker.

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

We're down to 220 players and, with 215 of those scoring an additional €50, players are starting to tighten up somewhat. It seems every shove is getting through, although some players are starting to get a little suspicious of big river bets, assuming that every else is abusing the bubble.

Roger Cutig, for example, made a light river call versus Abdul Yazici on a board reading {k-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{6-Clubs}, with Yazici showing him {a-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} for a straight.

Kassai Comes Crashing Out

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Sascha Schönherr draws first blood
Sascha Schönherr draws first blood

Table 32 just witnessed one of our first exits of the day.

Krisztian Kassai and Sascha Schönherr went to war on a {q-Spades}{4-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} flop, with Kassai putting in a check-raise to 62,000 before Schönherr clicked it back to 120,000. This proved to be an awkward raise size for Kassai's 250,000-chip stack, as he would need to commit himself should he want to continue with the hand.

After a little consideration, Kassai went with the shove and was called immediately by Schönherr's {7-Spades}{7-Clubs}. As soon as he saw the bad news, Kassai's demeanor completed deflated, with someone else at the table asking, "do you have king queen?" Kassai indeed tabled {k-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds} and was drawing to running cards.

It was all over on the {10-Spades} turn, as Kassai stood up the leave the tournament. He handed in his seat card at the cash desk, but unfortunately didn't make any additional money since being paid €250 at the end of Day 1.
