Boivin Eliminated by Marchese

Level 27 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

Thomas Boivin opened to 110,000 from the cutoff and Tom Marchese called.

Marchese check-called 75,000 on the {k-Clubs}{5-Spades}{4-Hearts} flop and 370,000 on the {j-Diamonds} turn.

The river was the {3-Hearts} and Marchese check-called Boivin's all in for 940,000.

Boivin showed {k-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} but Marchese took down the pot, eliminating his opponent with {k-Hearts}{j-Hearts} for a better two pair.

Beresford Vaults Into the Lead

Level 27 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

A massive pot broke out between Conor Beresford in the big blind and Jeremy Pekarek from under the gun. With around 1,400,000 in the middle heading to the river, the board read {j-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{a-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}.

Beresford checked the river and Pekarek announced a bet of 850,000. Beresford wasted no time in making the call and Pekarek turned over {a-}{2-} for two pair. Unfortunately for him, Beresford flipped over {a-}{6-} for a larger two pair to scoop the pot.

Stepuchin Won't Stop Yammering

Level 27 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

On a {2-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} flop Amit Makhija bet 200,000 and Frank Stepuchin raised to 575,000.

"I'm getting ready to flip over my cards the moment you get it in," said Stepuchin.

"Do you have a flush draw?" asked Makhija.

"More than that," replied Stepuchin. Then, after a long pause, he added: "Just kidding..."

Makhija used a time extension but folded and Stepuchin showed {a-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} for a straight flush draw.

Updated Chip Counts

Level 27 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

Tough Few Hands for Grafton

Level 27 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante
Sam Grafton
Sam Grafton

Sam Grafton was just on the wrong side of the cards for the past few hands he participated in. He lost a big pot to Conor Beresford who rivered two pair and Grafton was down to less than 1.5 million chips.

After Ana Marquez raised it up from the cutoff, Sam Grafton pushed all in for 1,425,000 in the small blind. Marquez quickly called and the cards were tabled.

Ana Marquez: {q-Spades}{q-Hearts}
Sam Grafton: {5-Spades}{5-Diamonds}

Grafton would need to catch a five in order to stay alive and the flop of {9-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{2-Clubs} was not looking promising. The {2-Diamonds} paired the board on the turn and the {q-Diamonds} on the river only improved Marquez to a full house to eliminate Grafton.

Duthweiler Wins a Classic Flip vs Kisacikoglu

Level 27 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante
Orpen Kisacikoglu
Orpen Kisacikoglu

Sam Grafton opened to 110,000 from middle position and Tobias Duthweiler three-bet to 310,000 on his left. Orpen Kisacikoglu moved all in for 775,000 in the blinds which got Grafton to fold but Duthweiler called.

Tobias Duthweiler: {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts}
Orpen Kisacikoglu: {q-Spades}{q-Hearts}

It was a classic flip and Duthweiler took the lead on the {k-Spades}{8-Clubs}{3-Hearts} flop. The {3-Spades} paired the board on the turn and the {7-Spades} was no help to Kisacikoglu either.

Deyra Eliminated by Blieden

Level 27 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante
Ivan Deyra
Ivan Deyra

Ivan Deyra was all-in pre-flop against Dennis Blieden for the former's last 1,000,000 chips.

Ivan Deyra: {a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}
Dennis Blieden: {6-Hearts}{6-Spades}

There were plenty of face cards on the {j-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} runout but not the one Deyra needed and he was eliminated.

Kempe Gets Paid Off on the River

Level 27 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

Chris Moneymaker opened to 115,000 in middle position and Rainer Kempe defended his big blind. The flop came {a-Spades}{10-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} and Kempe check-called a bet of 130,000 from Moneymaker.

The turn brought the {q-Spades} and both players checked to the {5-Hearts} on the river. Kempe led out for 350,000 and Moneymaker quickly called. Kempe rolled over {a-Hearts}{q-Diamonds} for two pair and Moneymaker sent his cards to the muck.

Meanwhile at the other table, Frank Stepuchin raised to 130,000 in the cutoff and Dennis Blieder three-bet to 450,000 from the big blind. Stepuchin used up a time extension before announcing all in for 3,010,000. Blieder asked for a count but decided to fold, only to have Stepuchin show him the {a-Clubs}{10-Spades}.
