Hagerty Gets a Double Knockout

Ryan Hagerty
Ryan Hagerty

On the last hand of Level 23 (7,000/14,000/1,750), action folded around to "maniacalmonk" in the small blind and they shoved for 100,000. Ryan “simlSgg” Hagerty re-shoved for 187,000 in the small blind and "angels" called all in for 159,000 from the big blind to bring about a three-way all-in preflop situation.

"maniacalmonk": {k-Hearts}{q-Spades}
"angels": {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}
Ryan “simlSgg” Hagerty: {a-Spades}{9-Hearts}

Hagerty had called the first shove with the best hand but ran into a bigger ace behind him for both the main- and side pots. The flop came {8-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} to give him an open-ended straight draw, though two of his outs would be no good as "angels" had also picked up the nut flush draw. The turn {5-Clubs} was exactly what Hagerty needed to hit a straight, and he was able to fade the flush on the river {2-Clubs} to earn the dobule knockout and bring his stack up to 472,000.

"IReadYrSoul" Eliminates "mooseman1710"; Butcher Back from the Dead

"mooseman1710"
"mooseman1710"

In Level 23 with blinds of 7,000/14,000 and an ante of 1,750, preflop action saw 84,000 into the middle in a heads-up pot between "mooseman1710" in the small blind and "IReadYrSoul," who was on the button.

The flop dropped {3-Spades}{10-Spades}{6-Clubs} and "mooseman1710" checked. "IReadYrSoul" bet 25,200 and "mooseman1710" check-raised to 84,000. "IReadYrSoul" called.

The turn came {8-Hearts} and "mooseman1710" continued with a bet of 147,000. "IReadYrSoul" called and the river fell {5-Spades}. With 546,000 in the middle, "mooseman1710" jammed for their last 234,000 and "IReadYrSoul" quickly called once more.

"mooseman1710": {k-Spades}{k-Diamonds}
"IReadYrSoul": {10-Clubs}{8-Clubs}

"mooseman1710" saw their overpair had run into "IReadYrSoul's" turned two pair and was thus no good to result in their elimination from the tournament. The pot was shipped to "IReadYrSoul," who now finds themselves with over 1.3 million.

Meanwhile, Alex “JinYang” Butcher was down to just a couple of big blinds at the beginning of the level and has doubled multiple times to find himself back near a quarter-million and well into contention once again.

David "TheKing411" Coleman Talks About Big partypoker US Network WPT Online Poker Open Win

At the beginning of July, the partypoker US Network in New Jersey reached a sizzling conclusion when the WPT Online Poker Open, which combined fields from partypoker US, Borgata Poker and BetMGM Poker crowned a winner. The Main Event drew a field of 868 entries, generating a lofty $317,540 prize pool which surpassed its $300k guarantee. It marked the largest ever event for the New Jersey online poker network surpassing the $302,100 prize pool for the $320 buy-in partypoker US Network $250K GTD back on March 29.

In the end, it was David "TheKing411" Coleman who emerged victorious for a payday of $56,586. In addition to the first-place prize, he also earned a WPT Championship Trophy and an $11,000 prize package which includes entry into the next WPT in-person live event, the WPT Five Diamond World Poker Classic, which will take place at Bellagio in Las Vegas ($10,400 buy-in), as well as $600 in cash towards travel expenses.

David Coleman spoke to PokerNews about the win.

More Eliminations

Less than five minutes remain in Level 22 (6,000/12,000/1,500) and just 30 players now remain after another slew of eliminations has recently occurred to leave the following players no longer in contention.

"BlackCoffee" Spikes a Much-Needed Ace

In Level 22 with blinds of 6,000/12,000 and an ante of 1,500, "BlackCoffee" shoved on the button for around 15 big blinds and was called by "maniacalmonk" in the big blind.

"BlackCoffee": {a-Clubs}{5-Spades}
"maniacalmonk": {k-Spades}{k-Diamonds}

After finding themselves in dismal shape, the flop came {q-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} to give "BlackCoffee" one of the three remaining aces in the deck to pull ahead. They remained there as the turn {4-Spades} and river {6-Diamonds} completed the runout and scored the double, living to see another hand as a result.

Level 21 has begun with blinds climbing to 6,000/12,000 and an ante of 1,500. Thirty-nine players now remain, with Anthony "Flawlessbinkage" Maio having recently shot up the counts to amass a stack of more than 1.1 million, making him the clear chip leader with 25 eliminations needed to reach the money. The top 20 stacks have been provided below.

"Premium123" Hits the Rail

In Level 20 with blinds of 4,000/8,000 and an ante of 1,000, "Premium123" limped in from the hijack and "jerseyman99" limped in behind in the cutoff. "rule22" raised to 24,000 in the small blind and both players called, taking action three ways to a flop of {10-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{2-Hearts}, which saw "Premium123" get their last 74,000 in with both other players giving action for a shot at a triple.

"rule22" and "jerseyman99" then went to the turn {5-Spades} with a possible side pot in order, though "rule22" check-folded to a bet of 68,000 to leave just two players in the hand.

"Premium123": {j-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}
"jerseyman99": {7-Clubs}{6-Hearts}

"Premium123" was in great shape for a triple but the river {7-Hearts} spoiled their sights, giving "jerseyman99" two pair to earn them the pot and the knockout, bringing their stack over 575,000 along the way.

"pay4medsch00l" Holds for a Double

"pay4medsch00l"
"pay4medsch00l"

In Level 19 with blinds of 3,500/7,000 and an ante of 875, "FRIELnGood" opened to 17,600 under the gun and "pay4medsch00l" three-bet jammed for 60,000 on their direct left. Action folded back to "FRIELnGood" and they called.

"pay4medsch00l": {a-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}
"FRIELnGood": {k-Clubs}{q-Spades}

"pay4medsch00l" saw the number outs they needed to fade cut in half as the flop {a-Spades}{9-Clubs}{10-Spades} gave them top pair, leaving "FRIELnGood" with a gutshot to Broadway and a couple of backdoor possibilities. Nothing came of it all as the turn {7-Clubs} and river {3-Spades} completed the runout and "pay4medsch00l" saw the pot shipped their way for the double.
