Katchalov KO's Kurganov

Igor Kurganov is the first player to be eliminated. We were informed that Kurganov got the last of his chips into the middle with {A-}{J-} against the {4-}{4-} of Eugene Katchalov, but was unable to improve.

Selbst Wins One

In a four-way, three-bet flop between Vanessa Selbst, Marc-Andre Ladouceur, Sam Stein, and Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier, the flop was {4-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{7-Spades}. Selbst checked in the small blind, Ladouceur fired 16,500 from the big blind, Stein folded, and Grospellier called on the button.

Selbst check-raised to 62,800, Ladouceur quickly folded, and Grospellier tank-folded.

Adams vs. Katz

With around 15,000 in the pot and a flop of {2-Spades}{6-Hearts}{4-Hearts}, Bill Perkins checked from the small blind and opened the door for Cary Katz to bet 10,000 from the big. Timothy Adams then called from middle position, Perkins folded, and the dealer burned and turned the {A-Diamonds}. Katz slowed down with a check, and then he snap-folded when Adams bet 26,800.

It wasn't much of a hand, but it gave us a chance to update you on both Katz and Adams, who've both been quiet here today.

Kenney Slipping

Greg Jensen opened to 4,000 in early position, Bryn Kenney called near the button, and the flop came {q-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{8-Spades}. Both players checked.

The turn was the {2-Hearts}, Jensen led out for 5,000, and Kenney called.

The {8-Diamonds} complete the board, Jensen tossed out two blue T5,000 chips, and Kenney quickly called.

Jensen rolled over {a-Diamonds}{a-Spades} for a pair of aces, and Kenney folded.

Marchese Sets Up Seidel

Tom Marchese raised to 4,500 from the hijack and Erik Seidel three-bet to 12,500 from the small blind. Marchese called and a {J-Spades}{6-Spades}{5-Hearts} flop hit the table.

Seidel bet 15,500, Marchese called, and the {A-Spades} hit the turn. A check from Seidel led to bet of 42,500 from Marchese. Seidel called, landing the {4-Spades} on the river. Both checked the fourth spade on board and Seidel turned over {A-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}. Marchese tabled {J-Hearts}{J-Clubs} for a set to win the pot.

Griffin Straightens Out Kurganov

We just saw a monster pot take place, and a rare all-in-and-a-call situation.

It began when Igor Kurganov opened for 4,500 and cleared the field to Ashton Griffin, who three-bet to 15,000 from the small blind. After the big got out of the way, Kurganov called and the flop came down {8-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}. Griffin was first to act and fired out 21,000, Kurganov called, and the {9-Hearts} turned. Again Griffin bet, this time 47,000, and Kurganov thought for well over a minute before putting in a call.

When the {4-Clubs} completed the board on the river, Griffin moved all in for his last 112,500 and Kurganov thought long and hard before dropping in some chips to signify a call. Griffin then rolled over {Q-Clubs}{J-Diamonds} for a queen-high straight, which was good as Kurganov showed {9-Diamonds}{9-Spades} for a turned set.

Negreanu in the Gutter

Tom Marchese (small blind) and Daniel Negreanu (big blind) were heads up on a flop of {k-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{6-Hearts}. Marchese led out for 2,200, and Negreanu made the call.

The turn was the {q-Hearts}, both players checked, and the river was the {3-Spades}. Marchese tossed out 4,000, Negreanu quickly raised to 14,000, and Marchese tank-called.

"Straight," Negreanu announced, tabling {5-Hearts}{2-Clubs}.

Marchese mucked, and Kid Poker raked in the pot.
