It was certainly a busier day inside the Jackpot Junction Casino and Hotel for Day 1b of the Roughrider Poker Tour $640 Main Event which saw 171 entries amass throughout the day, more than double that of the first starting flight. There were 29 players that made it all the way to end of the day, slightly more than the 15% threshold required to reach the money.
It was a day dominated by Anthony Scarborough who carried a big stack throughout the majority of play en route to bagging the overall chip lead with 740,000 chips. On the heels of a massive cooler later in the evening where Scarborough flopped a set of jacks versus his opponent's ace-king that made top pair, Scarborough cruised to a comfortable position for Day 2 where all of the money will be at stake.
He faded a late-night push from Eddie Bull who made his way to the top of the leaderboard with a stack of 674,000 chips. They will be joined by the likes of Duane Anderson (643,000) and Jason Sell (628,000) as the only other players to finish with at least ten starting stacks.

Day 1b Action
There was no doubt that the number of entries would pick up today right from the onset as over 40 players took their seats when the cards went in the air at 1 p.m. local time. That quickly escalated in large part due to the unlimited number of reentries permitted throughout the event. It was Alan Carlson who took full advantage of that, using up a total of six bullets on Day 1b. However, it paid off for him as he bagged up a stack of 446,000 chips when the dust settled.
The field was also greeted with a few young guns who are coming off successful summers at the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas, including recent WSOP bracelet winner Garrett Dwire. The 24-year-old from Minnesota claimed $210,000 for his victory in the $500 Summer Saver just a couple of weeks ago. Unfortunately for him and his two friends, Joseph Osterbauer and Tyler Stevenson, none of them were able to bag chips on Day 1b.
The final starting flight is expected to be the largest of them all with nearly $140,000 in the prizepool already. The action will resume at 1 p.m. CST and follow the same schedule as the first two flights.
