In the 13th episode, Connor speaks with 888poker ambassador and Twitch streamer Ian Simpson, who talked about first learning poker as a kid, getting a degree in biotechnology and becoming a biology teacher, poker streaming and his breakout year of live poker in 2013 that saw him winning the Irish Poker Open for $339,604.

Simpson also discussed the importance of being a responsible poker ambassador and how science can change the world for the better.

After checking through the flop of 4♠J♦8♠, Mario Samareta led for 110,000 on the turn 7♥ and Derek Stark called.

On the river 9♣, Samareta moved all in and was snap-called by Stark, who covered.

Samareta shook his head and tabled Q♥3♥ for a queen-high bluff while Stark rolled over J♣10♠ for a rivered straight to take the pot and sent Samareta to the rail.

The first-ever RunGood Player of The Year Race powered by the Global Poker Index has concluded and it’s time to celebrate the winner. The 2023/24 rankings compiled points from 21 different RunGood series stops over two seasons of events, with one player dominating the rankings throughout the year.

Brian Winter never relinquished his big lead, topping the final rankings by more than 1,000 points. Winter’s incredible year saw him earn a total of 49 cashes, 21 final tables and six RGPS victories. His earnings for the year were $167,773, leading to an impressive 2,871.85 points to take down the title over runner-up Shaun Emery.
