Check-Raise The River

Level 12 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Veerab Zakarian led out on a {7-Spades}{9-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} flop only to be three-bet by Adam Foster.

Zakarian called and they both checked the {6-Clubs} turn. Then on the river, with about 30,000 sitting in the middle, Zakarian checked.

Foster made it 17,000 and without hesitation, Zakarian check-raised all in. Foster gave it some thought before giving it up.

Mueller vs. Miller

Level 12 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

We have players named Miller, Mueller and Moeller seated at the same table, and they keep getting involved in pots. You're not making our job any easier, guys.

Greg Miller was all in preflop for just under 30,000 with the {Q-Spades}{Q-Hearts} and was racing against Johannes Mueller's {A-Hearts}{K-Spades}. The {5-Spades}{3-Spades}{4-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}{8-Hearts} board improved Miller to a set of queens, securing his double.

Walker Dusted on Day 1a

Level 11 : 600/1,200, 100 ante

He wasn't lying. Nick Walker was all in with {A-}{K-} preflop against the {8-}{8-} of Budway Salhab but couldn't connect on the {Q-}{Q-}{6-}{5-}{4-} board, sending him to the rail.

"Be back tomorrow," Walker said as he made his way out of the tournament area.

Nick Walker

Defending champ Nick Walker has about 14,000 in his stack right now, but he says there's no way he'll be taking that short stack to Day 2. He's been moving in often here in the past two levels but hasn't found any callers. We expect the same to continue through the rest of the night until he doubles or busts.

Alafogiannis Spelled

Level 11 : 600/1,200, 100 ante

Nick Alafogiannis started this event off on a hot streak that has now come to a tragic ending.

He got it all in with Joseph Elia holding {a-}{j-} against Elia's {a-}{q-} and when they both made top pair he went broke.

Elia is now over 100,000 in chips and smiling.

Blake Napierala
Blake Napierala

Blake Napierala busted early. Blake Napierala busted often. But Blake Napierala is now throroughly enjoying his third bullet here in the Main Event.

He raised up the button to 2,800 and Dietrich Kuhlmann defended his big blind. The flop came {10-Spades}{6-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} and after a check from Kuhlmann, Napierala bet 3,000. Kuhlmann called, then led for 6,000 on the {2-Clubs} turn.

Napierala flatted and the {8-Clubs} turn was revealed. Kuhlmann checked again, then called when Napierala bet 12,000.

Napierala showed {6-Spades}{2-Spades} and took it down when Kuhlmann mucked.
