Batman Fights Back

Level 17 : 4,000/8,000, 0 ante
Dennis Fleig
Dennis Fleig

Matt Shanahan had been torturing Dennis Fleig with a series of thin value bets on the river.

Fleig paid off bets after Shanahan made a small flush and a straight to dip under 100,000. Shanahan's lead appeared to be ever increasing through Fleig.

Then suddenly, Fleig got it in with a pair and an open ender versus Shanahan's top two pair. Fleig turned a better two pair to double up back into contention.

Knight Gets Through LaRouech

Level 17 : 4,000/8,000, 0 ante

Josh Knight got it in preflop with the {j-Clubs}{j-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{2-Spades} trailing Ray LaRouech's {a-Clubs}{a-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}.

However, the {q-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{4-Spades} board bailed him out.

LaRouech is the short stack now five handed and Knight has new life.

Sal Amico Eliminated in 6th Place ($983)

Level 16 : 3,000/6,000, 0 ante
Sal Amico
Sal Amico

With an ace exposed, Sal Amico made it 13,000 and Matt Shanahan came over the top for 37,000.

Amico put the rest of his chips in and the cards were turned on their backs.

Amico: {5-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{6-Spades}
Shanahan: {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}{a-Spades}{10-Clubs}

All the aces were out, but they still held for Shanahan on a {2-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{9-Spades}{q-Clubs} board to send Amico out sixth.
