The tournament drew a total of 418 entries across four starting days to surpass the ZAR5,000,000 guarantee, attracting many notables of the close-knit South African poker community. Singh took home the trophy along with ZAR707,675 ($38,214).

Just before the blinds went up, Sheldon Grove had a raise to 3,000 out in front and then folded when Menesh Keshav pushed all-in for slightly more than the starting stack, Okkie Fourie also folded as well.

One hand later, Grove limped and so did another three players. Shawn Smith in the small blind made it 2,500 to go and earned no fewer than four callers. Five ways to the K88 flop, everyone checked and it was Grove who bet the 4 turn for 3,500. Keshav raised to 11,000 and forced out all opponents.
