Alexi Alexandrou headed out of the tournament area and Benjamin Dingenfelder claimed his chips. It was a classic confrontation in a three-bet pot when a paired king-high board got the chips into the middle. Alexandrou's J♦J♣ were trailing versus Q♠Q♥ and there was no upset in the cards.
Anand Kumar on the button and Benjamin Lingenfelder haded to the Q♣8♦6♥ flop on which Lingenfelder check-called a bet of 35,000 by Kumar. The 5♦ followed on the turn and Kumar's bet of 50,000 took it down.
Shannon Elizabeth was spotted on her way out of the tournament area and she waved goodbye to several friends while Samuel Tebege raked in the chips.
According to Elizabeth, she four-bet jammed a stack of around 100,000 against the open raise of Marko Nortje and the three-bet to 25,000 by Tebege. The latter called with Q♠Q♣ and Elizabeth flipped with her A♣K♣. The Q♥J♥9♣J♠9♥ board left Elizabeth drawing dead on the turn.
Over on the live stream table, Joe Rahme was all-in for the last 32,00 with the 10♥9♥ and Nick Sissou looked him up with the 8♠8♣. The 6♥5♥3♣2♣9♦ board provided the nine on the river for the double of the shortest stack in the field.
Aleko Managanas lost his stack with ace-queen on an ace-high board as Gareth Kalil flopped a set of fives. The same table then brought more action early on.
Four ways to the A♦K♥Q♦8♣ turn, Merwan Corront bet 26,000 and Danny Dayani then raised to 75,000 with 93,000 behind. He forced two folds and Corront used two time bank extensions before folding.
Cliton Taliwanth has also been eliminated as the field dropped to 67 players.
There was a raise to 15,000 out in front of Mathew Ord-Hume and in unter the gun and he then called the shove by Djordje Stojic in the small blind for 87,000.
Djordje Stojic: J♦J♠
Mathew Ord-Hume: K♣K♥
The superior pair remained ahead on the 10♦9♠4♠ flop but the J♣ turn vaulted Stojic into the lead, the 8♠ river changed nothing anymore.
"SM" picked up where he left yesterday with his aggressive play when he played a larger pot versus Ricky Toker. On the 9♦5♠4♥Q♥7♠ river, SM moved all-in and Toker sigh-folded, then told his father one table over "lost a big one".
In the meanwhile, Jaco van der Westhuizen was eliminated and explained that his nut flush draw as a short stack had missed over on table 17.
Danny Dayani raised to 9,000 and was called by Huawei Sun as well as Imran Bhojani. Merwan Corront in the small blind then clicked it up to 40,000 and Dayani announced a reraise, splashing in 159,000. Sun moved all-in over the top of that and Bhojani joked "can I not play this hand, please?"
Corront asked for a count but folded while Dayani called with a shrug.
Huawei Sun: A♠A♥
Danny Dayani: 10♥10♦
The board ran out 8♠4♥3♥2♥9♠ and Sun doubled for 269,000.
Timothy Du Plessis was the first player all in and at risk preflop with the K♣Q♣ and picked an unfortunate timing as Menesh Keshav looked him up with the A♠A♣.
Thanks to a board of J♥7♣2♣Q♠3♣, Du Plessis spiked the flush.
Nahum Lum was less fortunate, as his preflop shove with the A♣10♣ was called by Patrice Ah-Nien with the A♦A♠. The board ran out J♠8♥5♣6♦10♦ to knock out Lum.
