Matt Kirby

Matt Kirby just busted out when his {k-}{k-} was ran down by {a-Spades}{q-Spades}, according to players at his former table. He's already seated for his last bullet. Judd Greenagel also went bust in a hand we didn't see.

Seefeld Triples Up

Mike Ross flopped trips but was beat.
Mike Ross flopped trips but was beat.

A massive pot once again fired up at Mike Ross' table, again involving the Chicago-based player who got fourth at Mid-States Poker Tour Ho-Chunk recently for more than $25,000. On a {6-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{a-Clubs} board, Ross, Jason Seefeld, and one other player got all in, with Ross easily covering both. The third player turned up {6-Clubs}{4-Spades} for trips.

"I can beat that," Ross said, tabling {7-Hearts}{6-Hearts} for better trips.

Both were well behind Seefeld, who held {5-Hearts}{5-Clubs} for a boat on the flop. Seefeld got the brick he desired as a {q-Spades} completed the board, and he eliminated the third player, who had slightly less chips, while Ross sent about 15,000 his way.

Hinkle Down to Final Bullet

Level 3 : 100/200, 0 ante
Blair Hinkle
Blair Hinkle

Blair Hinkle bet 1,000 on a {9-Spades}{10-Clubs}{8-Hearts} flop from early position and was called by the small blind. In the big blind, Scott Moses put in a raise, and Hinkle got it all in with him, forcing out the small blind.

Hinkle: {10-Hearts}{9-Hearts}
Moses: {7-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}

"Don't do it to me, dealer," Moses prayed.

The dealer obliged, delivering a {6-Spades} and {a-Clubs}, eliciting a big sigh of relief from Moses.

Hinkle was left with about 700 and busted shortly after.

Beavers Over 50,000

Level 3 : 100/200, 0 ante

Sam Beavers just won one of the bigger early pots of the tournament when he made the nut flush with {a-Spades}{8-Spades} on a board of {6-Spades}{9-Spades}{a-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{5-Spades} and an opponent paid him off with {10-Spades}{3-Spades} for a weaker flush.

Level 3 : 100/200, 0 ante

Both Lance Harris and Mike Holm made the final table the last time the Mid-States Poker Tour was in town here. Harris busted eighth, while Holm fell to Jonathan Olson heads up.

Double Draw Makes Both

Level 3 : 100/200, 0 ante

On a flop of {3-Hearts}{k-Spades}{6-Spades}, a player in middle position bet 1,000 and got raised to 3,200 by the hijack. Moe S. shoved 7,800 in the small blind, and a fourth player folded, as did the bettor. The raiser quickly called.

Hijack: {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}
Moe S.: {7-Spades}{4-Spades}

The turn was a blank, the {j-Clubs}, but the river {3-Spades} made both the straight and the flush for Moe S.
