Speaking of Mid-States Poker Tour Ho-Chunk final tablists, Jun Kim was spotted grinding at Table 15. In a recent pot, he bet 600 after two checks on a {2-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{10-Hearts} board, and both opponents called. Everybody checked the {9-Spades} turn, and two more checks followed the {10-Hearts} river. Kim bet 1,100, and his opponents quickly folded.

Kim banked $14,723 for a sixth-place finish two weeks ago.

Ryan Jefferson is back for more.
Ryan Jefferson is back for more.

Big blind Ryan Jefferson bet 750 with the board reading {4-Hearts}{q-Spades}{4-Spades}{7-Spades} on fourth street, and he got one caller before another player folded. On the {8-Spades} river, Jefferson fired again, this time for 1,600, and his opponent thought briefly before folding.

Jefferson finished third at Mid-States Poker Tour Ho-Chunk two weeks ago, banking $35,335 in the process.

Mackey Outdrawn

Level 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

Cash Carpenter opened for 375 and got one caller, and James Mackey made it 1,050. Carpenter folded when action got back to him, and the caller came along.

Mackey bet 1,025 on the {9-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} flop, and his opponent made the call. An {a-Spades} hit the turn, and the player fired out 1,025, which Mackey called. Action went the same on the river, and the first player showed {a-Hearts}{10-Clubs} for a turned top pair. Mackey flipped {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} face up before mucking.

Sandness' First Bullet Gone

Level 1 : 50/100, 0 ante
Mark Sandness' straight was no good.
Mark Sandness' straight was no good.

We found Mark Sandness agonizing over an all-in shove from Matt Morfitt on a {5-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{q-Clubs} board.

"Well, it is the rebuy period," he said as he stood up before dropping his stack into the middle.

Morfitt tabled {7-Spades}{5-Hearts} for a turned boat, and Sandness smacked his cards together disgustedly before showing {6-Hearts}{3-Spades}, meaning the card that gave Morfitt his full house also gave Sandness a straight. He headed off, presumably to the registration desk.

Johnson Sitting With Heaps

Level 1 : 50/100, 0 ante
Aaron Johnson
Aaron Johnson

According to the players at Table 12, Aaron Johnson just busted two players when he flopped a set kings and managed to get all in against a player with a set of sixes and another player who had the nut flush draw. Johnson's hand held, and he has a very nice early stack two weeks after cashing in Mid-States Poker Tour Ho-Chunk.

Reuther Oversets One

Level 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

We found Barry Reuther betting 5,000 on the river with the board reading {6-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{a-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{j-Spades}. His opponent, who had checked, raised to 15,000, and Reuther snap-called.

The raiser confidently flipped {3-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} for a set, but it was no good against Reuther's {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs}.
