Perfect Flop for Pupillo

Level 9 : 400/800, 100 ante
Nick Pupillo
Nick Pupillo

A player opened to 2,000 from the hijack and called a Nick Pupillo three-bet to 6,500. The flop came {8-Hearts}{a-Spades}{2-Clubs}, and the hijack bet out 6,000. Pupillo made it 14,000 to go from the button, and his opponent called. On the {4-Clubs} turn, Pupillo put his opponent all in for about 36,000, and the player looked to the ceiling and thought for awhile before calling off.

Pupillo: {a-Hearts}{2-Hearts}
Opponent: {a-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}

"Pair something," the hijack said, slapping down his {a-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}. The dealer didn't, as the {k-Hearts} fell. "Unbelievable."

Wilson Doubles Through Wood

Level 9 : 400/800, 100 ante
James Wilson
James Wilson

James Wilson shoved for 22,000 into a pot of about 10,000 when Steve Wood checked to him on {5-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}. Wood called after contemplating a couple of minutes, and Wilson showed {j-Clubs}{10-Hearts} for top pair.

"I have one out," Wood said shortly, showing {10-Clubs}{10-Spades}. He didn't find it on the {4-Spades}{a-Hearts} run out.

Wood Dodges Diamonds

Level 8 : 300/600, 75 ante

Steve Wood just got all in for what looked like about 40,000 on a {k-}{7-}{j-} flop that contained two diamonds. His opponent called off with {a-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} after betting 10,000, and Wood showed {k-}{7-} for two pair. No third diamond hit the board, and Wood collected the pot.

Cryde Survives; Carter Takes a Beat

Level 8 : 300/600, 75 ante

Two players in the blinds checked to Olimpia May on a {5-Clubs}{3-Spades}{5-Spades} flop, and she bet 3,500 from the hijack. The small blind called, and Kevin Cryde put his last 8,225 in from the big blind. May called, folding out the small blind.

May: {a-Hearts}{7-Spades}
Cryde: {j-Hearts}{5-Hearts}

The dealer burned and turned a {j-Spades}, giving Cryde a boat, one he clearly didn't realize he had as he shouted for a red card on the river. He got his wish anyway as the {7-Diamonds} hit.

At another table, Bruce Carter, who was part of a nine-way chop of the $50,000 guaranteed earlier at this tour stop, took a bad beat when his {a-}{k-} was outdrawn on a king-high flop with two spades by a player holding {q-Spades}{9-Spades}.

Buckley Crushes One

Level 8 : 300/600, 75 ante

On a {4-Diamonds}{a-Spades}{8-Hearts} flop, the cutoff checked to Ryan Buckley who bet 5,000 and was called. A {3-Diamonds} hit the turn, and Buckley bet again when checked to. This prompted the cutoff to splash in his last 13,000 or so, looking less than pleased as he did so. He got out of his seat when Buckley turned over {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts}, as {a-}{j-} had just three outs. The river was a {3-Hearts}, no help to Buckley's opponent.
