Anderson's Kicker Plays

Level 5 : 300/500, 500 ante

There was around 12,000 in the pot with three players in the pot on a board reading {4-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}{a-Spades}{6-Clubs}. A player in early position checked over to Edward Janezich, who was in the hijack and also checked. Becky Anderson was last to act on the button and bet 3,200. The early-position player folded and Janezich called.

Action then went heads up to the river {2-Diamonds} and both players checked to take the hand to showdown.

Janezich showed {a-Clubs}{5-Clubs} for three aces and Anderson tabled {a-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}, also showing three aces. The dealer announced that the eight played and shipped Anderson the pot, bringing her up to around 64,000 in the process.

Tyler Checks, Clicks It Back

Level 4 : 200/400, 400 ante

There was 5,000 in the middle from preflop action in a heads-up pot between Ryan Tyler in middle position and his opponent in the cutoff. The flop came {6-Spades}{q-Spades}{j-Clubs} and Tyler check-called a bet of 2,500 from his opponent.

The turn was {7-Diamonds} and Tyler checked again. His opponent threw out a T5,000 chip and Tyler clicked it back, check-raising the minimum to 10,000. His opponent went into the tank for just shy of a minute and a half and then painfully and meekly slid his cards from the nine-seat over to the dealer on his direct left, resulting in the pot being shipped Tyler's way.

Jeff Petronack
Jeff Petronack

A player in early position opened to 1,200 and was three-bet by Jeff Petronack to 3,000. Action made its way back to the early-position player and he called, bringing a flop of {5-Spades}{q-Spades}{j-Clubs} on board. The early-position player checked over to Petronack and he threw out a continuation-bet for another 3,000. His opponent folded.

"I might've been ahead still!" said the player in early position, sending his two cards {6-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} onto the felt face up.

"What's that?" asked Petronack as the pot was sent his way.

"I might've been ahead," said Petronack's opponent once more.

"You were not!" said Petronack with a smile, stacking his chips as he got ready for the next hand.
