White Wins Some Back

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Nicholas Wright raised to 2,200 from the button and was called by Andrew White in the small blind.

They both checked through the {j-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds} flop to the {6-Spades} on the turn. White bet 2,500 and that was enough for Wright to give up on the hand.

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante
Luis Arrilucea
Luis Arrilucea

In a battle of the big stacks on table 12, Luis Arrilucea checked the small blind and called a bet of 4,500 by John Caridad on the button with the board showing {j-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}. Arrilucea also checked the {q-Hearts} river and called another bet worth 10,000 by Caridad.

Arrilucea called and Caridad announced a set, rolling over the {2-Clubs}{2-Hearts} for deuces. Arrilucea had that beat with {j-Spades}{j-Diamonds} and pulled away at the top of the leaderboard.

Wakeman Gets Boskovic Sr to Fold

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

The board read {2-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds} with just over 30,000 in the middle already.

Matthew Wakeman bet 29,000 from the big blind which sent Dejan Boskovic Sr on the button into the tank. After about thirty seconds, Boskovic Sr opted to let his hand go.

Lee Misses the Flop

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Jack Lee opened to 2,200 first to act and picked up one caller. Alex Yazbeck three-bet to 6,000 in the big blind and Lee was the only caller. On the {q-Spades}{6-Spades}{2-Spades} flop, Yazbeck made it 10,000 to go and Lee instantly folded.

"I couldn't have missed that flop and more, I had a great hand," Lee admitted in table chat.

The community were all but rushed away as Harry Kyriacou grabbed his belongings, the {7-Spades}{7-Clubs} still tabled. Mladen Vukovic ended up a winner with {a-Spades}{4-Spades} as his flopped trips fours dealt the final blow to Kyriacou. Featured on the same table are also Chad Awerbuch, Rehman Kassam and Jarred Graham.

One table over, David Wang three-bet jammed for 17,800 in the big blind when facing a button raise to 2,000 by Lachlan Dykes and a call by Dejan Boskovic Sr in the small blind. No call followed and Wang raked in the pot.

Raut Doubles Through White

Level 8 : 400/800, 100 ante

Over on the feature table, the flop showed {10-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{5-Clubs} and Rayesh Daut was all in with the {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}. Andrew White looked him up with the {q-Clubs}{10-Spades} for top pair and failed to deal the final blow on the {j-Spades} turn and {5-Hearts} river run out.

Senic Down But Not Out

Level 8 : 400/800, 100 ante

Minh Tran jammed the button for 8,100 and Andrej Senic reshoved from one seat over.

Tran tabled the {q-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} and Senic had the {a-Clubs}{6-Spades}. The board came {k-Hearts}{q-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{4-Spades} and Senic was left with 5,100.

One hand later, Senic was all in with the {a-Clubs}{a-Spades} and received a call by an opponent with {q-Hearts}{j-Spades}.

As the flop came {j-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{8-Clubs}, the dealer gasped an "oh shit". Nothing changed with the {3-Diamonds} turn and another player demanded "give him an ace." Sure enough the {a-Diamonds} fell on the river and Senic doubled to remain in contention.

White Eliminates Nguyen

Level 8 : 400/800, 100 ante
Andrew White
Andrew White

Minh Nguyen opened from under the gun and Andrew White called from the button.

The flop came {9-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{7-Hearts}, Nguyen continued with a bet of 2,000 and White responded with a raise to 6,000. Nguyen shoved for 16,000 and White called with the bigger stack.

Minh Nguyen: {a-Clubs}{9-Spades}
Andrew White: {9-Hearts}{2-Hearts}

Nguyen had flopped top pair while holding the top-kicker. White had the same pair but the lower kicker, he was also sitting on a flush draw.

The turn brought them the {j-Spades} which didn't change things, the {2-Spades} on the river however gave White two pair to eliminate Nguyen from the tournament.
