The Silver Suffer

Level 4 : 100/200, 25 ante
Max Silver
Max Silver

Max Silver opened from first position and Stephen Trimble made the call. It was heads up to a flop of {4-Spades}{6-Spades}{2-Hearts} and Silver flicked out a T500 bet. Trimble called and they both checked the turn card {q-Spades}. When the river fell the {j-Spades} Silver checked once more and with all those spades on the board Trimble bet 2,000 and then decided to have another look at his cards?

“Got a spade?” Silver asked but was answered only with a smile. Silver called and saw the {k-Spades}{q-Diamonds}. “You have a spade.” Silver said and mucked.

Silver faced off against Willie Tann in the next hand, check-calling a bet of 1,600 from Tann on a flop of {k-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}. The turn card was the {k-Diamonds} and Silver check called a 2,500 bet from Tann. They both checked the river {10-Clubs} and Tann showed his {10-Hearts}{9-Hearts} for the flopped straight saying, “I can’t bet anymore in case you have the ace.”

Silver just nodded in agreement, left to reflect on a couple of pots that didn’t go his way to knock him just below starting stack.
