Dumont Jams Up His Stack Successfully

Level 5 : 200/400, 400 ante

With only around 6,500 in the middle to the {9-Spades}{7-Spades}{6-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}, a raise to 9,000 was in front of Jesus Arribas on the button. He then faced the push by Vivien Dumont in the small blind for 34,600 and that sent the Spaniard in the tank. Ultimately, no call followed as Dumont recovered earlier losses and moved above the starting stack again.

Latifou Eliminated by Lopez Rodriguez

Level 4 : 150/350, 350 ante

In what appeared to have been a four-way pot to the {j-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{2-Spades} flop, the action escalated between Virgile Latifou in the small blind and Norberto Lopez Rodriguez in the big blind. The former had jammed around 25,000 and Lopez Rodriguez isolated to get rid of Mathieu Pinson, who mucked his cards in disgust and was then stunned upon discovering the following showdown.

Virgile Latifou: {5-Clubs}{4-Clubs}
Norberto Lopez Rodriguez: {3-Spades}{2-Diamonds}

"Wow, what is going on," Pinson gasped. The {8-Hearts} turn and the {8-Diamonds} river brought no help to the open-ender and flush draw of Latifou to send the Frenchman to the rail.

"You really put 180 big blinds in with that?" Pinson asked and then mentioned in French he had folded king-jack.

More Early Eliminations

Level 4 : 150/350, 350 ante

In a field of nearly 300 players, more than a dozen contenders have already lost their entire stack as Day 1a is nearing the first break of the day.

Salazar Ferreras Gets His Revenge Against Zoughari

Level 4 : 150/350, 350 ante

Jose Salazar Ferreras and Moundir Zoughari had tangled in a big pot early on Day 1a in which the latter flopped trips with nine-four suited. But the decent start of the Frenchman was canceled out almost entirely and he may have lost even more chips if the latest clash didn't run out a four-card straight.

Zoughari opted to check behind the {8-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{10-Spades}{6-Diamonds} river and was shown the {9-Clubs}{8-Spades} for a turned straight by Salazar Ferreras. The sigh by Zoughari followed and he flashed the {j-Hearts}{j-Spades} for the overpair to drop behind his opponent on the leaderboard.

Popa Wins Three-Way Pot

Level 4 : 150/350, 350 ante

Heading to the three-way river of {10-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{q-Clubs} river with some 16,000 in the middle, it was checked through between Tudor Popa, Santiago Ramirez and Mathieu Olivier. Popa revealed the {k-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} for the second pair with a king kicker and Ramirez mucked.

Olivier flashed for what appeared to be the {6-Clubs} and another card before tossing them into the muck. By scooping the pot, Popa gained the lead at the table while the decent early start of Alexane Latifou was canceled out by then already.

Updated Counts and Bustouts

Level 4 : 150/350, 350 ante

It appears that Winamax Pro Bruno Lopes aka "Kool Shen" was among the early Day 1b casualties as his media card was just handed over. However, the Frenchman will be able to re-enter one time or use one of the remaining two flights to run up a stack.

Further assorted counts can be found below.
