Baker Gets All of It

Level 10 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

From under the gun, Hans Winzeler raised to 2,000. He was called by one player in middle position, David Baker in middle position, the player on the button, and the player in the big blind to create five-way action going to the flop.

After the dealer spread the {A-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}{8-Spades}, action checked to Baker. He bet 3,500, the player on the button made the call, and everyone else folded.

The turn was the {6-Hearts}, and Baker pressed a little harder on the gas with a bet of 9,500. His opponent called once again, and the dealer dropped the {10-Hearts} on the river. Baker fired 35,000, which was enough to put his opponent all in. With about 20,000 or so left, the player made the call after a bit of tanking.

Baker confidently tabled the {8-Diamonds}{8-Spades} for a set of eights, and his opponent mucked.

Karim Flush Is a Straight Knockout

Level 10 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

The action checked to Zo Karim on a board that read {7-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{8-Spades}{3-Spades}, and he bet 9,100. His opponent raised him, making it 18,200 to go. Karim called.

On the {9-Hearts} river, Karim's opponent quickly moved all in, almost before the river card hit. Karim called and quickly showed the {5-Hearts}{6-Hearts} for a flush. His opponent had the {8-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} and was eliminated.

Smith's After-Dinner Win

Level 10 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Jordan Smith raised to 2,500 preflop and got one caller. The flop came {q-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{5-Spades}, and Smith bet 2,700. His opponent called. Both players checked when the {a-Hearts} hit the turn, and then Smith bet 5,000 after the {k-Clubs} came on the river.

"I played this so badly," said his opponent as he reluctantly called.

"Straight," said Smith, announcing what would be the winning hand and turning over the {j-Hearts}{10-Spades}.

His opponent mucked, and Smith won the pot.

Another Double for Tolbert

Level 9 : 400/800, 100 ante

The player on the button raised to 1,800, and then Clint Tolbert reraised all in from the small blind for 14,350. The woman in the big blind reshoved for around 17,500, and the original raiser folded. Tolbert tabled the {K-Hearts}{9-Hearts}, and the woman in the big blind showed pocket tens.

The flop put Tolbert in the lead when the {K-Spades}{4-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} fell. He stayed in front from there after the {2-Spades} hit the turn followed by the {5-Clubs} on the river and doubled to over 30,000.

McVicker Hanging in There

Level 9 : 400/800, 100 ante

Jesse McVicker, who chopped the first event of the 2015 River Poker Series for $77,000, shoved all in for his last 5,500 from under the gun, almost faster than the dealer could finish pitching the cards. He got one call, and McVicker was ahead with the {a-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} against the {a-Hearts}{9-Hearts} of his opponent.

The board ran out {8-Hearts}{4-Spades}{2-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{q-Clubs}, and McVicker doubled up.
