Hundt Wins a Flip to Stay Alive

Level 20 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
James Hundt
James Hundt

Mike Leah raised to 25,000 from under the gun and James Hundt moved all in from middle position for 98,000. The action got back around to Leah who put in the chips to call.

James Hundt: {5-Spades}{5-Diamonds}
Mike Leah: {k-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}

It was a coin flip and Leah picked up a gut shot to add to his outs after the flop came {a-Hearts}{j-Spades}{2-Hearts}. Leah could not improve any further as the board ran out {2-Spades} and {3-Clubs} to give Hundt the double up.

McKeehen Eliminated By Owen's Cowboy's

Level 20 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Joe McKeehen
Joe McKeehen

Adam Owen opened for 20,000 from early position and Joe McKeehen defended his big blind to see a {9-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{j-Diamonds} flop.

McKeehen check-jammed after Owen continued and was snap-called.

Adam Owen: {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs}
Joe McKeehen: {q-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}

Owen was ahead with his made hand of kings but still had to dodge some cards as McKeehen held the flush and open-ended staright draw.

The {2-Clubs} turn was no help to McKeehen nor was the {q-Clubs} river and he was eliminated from the tournament.

While PokerNews is here offering live updates from the Main Event and High Roller, we’d be remiss if we didn’t tell you about the full schedule of side events that have been playing out over the past week at the World Series of Poker Circuit Harrah's Las Vegas.

In Event #4: $400 NLH Monster Stack, 225 runners created a $74,250 prize pool that was paid out to the top 34 players. Among those to cash but fall short of the final table were Patrick Testoni (11th - $1,233), Robert Cote (13th- $1,037), Nicholas Haynes (18th - $893), Brenda DeWitt (21st - $787), and Brian Green (23rd - $711).

In the end, it was Virginia native Mark Liedtke who collected every chip in play to capture his first ring along with a $17,309 payday.

“It feels pretty good,” he said after the event. This is Liedtke’s 40th career Circuit cash, and he’s come close to victory before, but until today always fell short of a ring. “I got second twice this year,” he recalled. “And a couple other final tables.”

Liedtke is primarily a cash game player. Tournaments are “more of a fun thing for me,” he said

Conniff Catches Graner

Level 19 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Asher Conniff
Asher Conniff

Asher Conniff raised to 16,000 from the cutoff. Stephen Graner called on the button and the big blind came along as well.

The flop came {a-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} and Conniff put out a continuation bet of 15,000. Both players called.

The {7-Spades} fell on the turn and the big blind checked to Conniff who fired out 40,000. Graner moved all in, the big blind folded and Conniff had a decision to make for his last 234,000. After some time in the tank Conniff threw is some chips to call.

Stephen Graner: {10-Clubs}{8-Clubs}
Asher Conniff: {a-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}

Graner was unable to hit his straight as the {7-Diamonds} completed the board to give Conniff the double up.

Pahuja Doubles Through Reilly

Level 19 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Vinny Pahuja
Vinny Pahuja

Tim Reilly opened for 18,000 on the button and Vinny Pahuja defended his big blind to see a {5-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{10-Spades} flop.

Pahuja looked at his chips and tossed the last 36,000 of them in the middle, Reilly called.

Tim Reilly: {q-Spades}{j-Hearts}
Vinny Pahuja: {10-Clubs}{8-Clubs}

Pahuja spiked top-pair and was ahead but it wasn't over as Reilly held two overcards with backdoor draws.

The {2-Diamonds} turn changed nothing nor the {4-Clubs} river and Pahuja scored the much needed double.
