Why Is The Clock Still Running?

Some of the players are worried that the clock is still running, as we've played nine hands in one hour and 15 minutes. However, time is usually added back onto the clock once hand-for-hand play comes to an end.

A lot of players have lined up to complain to Jack Effel, but he is diverting all questions until hand-for-hand play is complete. We expect an announcement about the time on the clock at that point.

The cutoff raised to 12,000 pre-flop, Thomas Nguyen called from the small blind and Noah Schwartz called from the big blind. The flop was {J-Diamonds}

. Schwartz bet 20,000 and Nguyen called. The cutoff tanked for a couple of minutes and moaned, "It hurts my stomach so bad to do this," before folding. Onto the turn, which was the {4-Diamonds}

. Nguyen checked, Schwartz counted out a 40,000 bet and before he could make it, Nguyen said, "I'm going all in no matter what." Schwartz released the eight 5,000 chips into the pot and as promised, Nguyen moved all in for 87,500. Schwartz folded, and Nguyen showed {A-Diamonds}

to the swarm of cameras around the table.

Though both Schwartz and the cutoff mucked their cards, BOTH claimed to have folded the same hand, A-J.

After the hand Nguyen was up to 265,000 while Schwartz was down to 76,000.

Jim McCrink has increased his stack from 80,000 to over 320,000 over the last few hands. He won two pots with post-flop aggression.

"I'm liking the bubble," McCrink said after he dragged his third pot in the last eight hands.

John Lawrence moved in from the big blind for his last 35,500 and Gregory Owen called with {K-Hearts}

. Lawrence turned over pocket Aces.

The {10-Clubs}

flop looked to be a good one for Lawrence. The {7-Hearts}

on the turn, not so good, as it gave Owen a flush draw.

And then Scotty Nguyen, peeking over other spectators shoulders to watch the action, said, "The river's gonna be the ten of hearts."

And baby, when Scotty Nguyen calls out a card, you know that card is comin'. On the river, as predicted, the {10-Hearts}

A huge "OHHHH!" rose from the crowd thronged around the table as that final card was dealt. That heart on the river cracked Lawrence's Aces and knocked him out just short of the money.

A Year's Supply of Beer Added to the Bubble Sit-N-Go

The final nine players to bubble the WSOP Main Event this year (finishers 622-630) will participate in a single table sit-n-go, where the winner will receive a $10,000 seat into the 2008 WSOP Main Event, along with a year's supply of beer from the official sponsor, Milwaukee's Best.

Jack Effel just reminded the players of this fact, hoping it will spur a little more action from the short stacks on the bubble.
