The players are starting to fill the Amazon Room here at the Rio with a huge field expected to hit the felt today for Event #2 of the 2008 World Series of Poker. We’ve received word that we’ll be close to a full field in the vicinity of 2,000 players today, with the event initially to be spread over four different rooms here in the Rio!

Event #2, $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em on Tap

Join us at noon today for the start of the first large-field event of the 2008 World Series, a $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em tourney that highlights the opening weekend. This one is expected to be a record-setter for a $1,500 buy-in event, with over 3,000 players already registered by late Friday evening and hundreds more expected to sign up for the noon Saturday start, the first of two opening days (1a, 1b) for the event. It's the first of several busy weekends here at the Rio, so check back early and often for the latest updates from the Amazon Room!
