Brooks Going Downhill

Having started the day with the chip lead, Gregory Brooks is slowly succumbing to the swings of Pot Limit Omaha and as a result has moved below 700,000 in chips.

Earlier, David Chiu raised from the button and Brooks called from the small blind to go heads-up to the flop of {2-Hearts}{4-Spades}{8-Spades}, which they both checked before Brooks led out for 61,000 on the turn of the {5-Diamonds}. Chiu folded and Brooks picked up the pot.

A full orbit later, Mericer came out with a raise from under the gun; again, Brooks called from the small blind before leading out for 52,000 on the flop of {J-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{9-Spades}. Mercier called, then Brooks opened for 88,000 on the turn of the {6-Diamonds}.

However, Brooks laid his hand down after Mercier returned fire with a raise of 208,000. Mercier is now up to more than 1.25 million after that hand.
