Ohel Makes The Right Fold

Level 1 : 75/150, 25 ante
Randy Ohel in an earlier event.
Randy Ohel in an earlier event.

With a board of {x-}{x-}/{8-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{K-Hearts} showing Randy Ohel called a bet from his opponent with a board of {x-}{x-}/{6-Clubs}{2-Spades}{10-Hearts}. Ohel picked up the {8-Clubs} on sixth street while his opponent was dealt the {7-Hearts}. Ohel called another bet from his opponent. Before seventh street was dealt face down, Ohel's opponent made a bet in the dark.

Ohel went into the tank for a bit and shuffled his yellow T1,000 chips in his hand. Eventually he folded.

"Show the ace. Show the ace." Ohel said to the other player.

His opponent turned up two of his down cards, the {A-Clubs} and {5-Diamonds} for a seventy-six low.

"Yes." Ohel said, implying that he made the right fold. Even so Ohel has dropped a bit under the starting stack and has some work to do on his quest for a second bracelet.

Huck Seed in the House

Level 1 : 75/150, 25 ante

Huck Seed, winner of the 1996 WSOP Main Event, has taken his seat in this tournament.

In a recent hand, Seed raised on third street with the {3-Clubs} after Bill Chen completed showing the {a-Diamonds}. Chen received the {j-Diamonds} on fourth street, and Seed bet out with his {9-Clubs}. Chen folded, and Seed raked in the chips.

Chen and Seed are seated directly next to each other and have six bracelets between them, so we'll keep an eye on these two throughout the night.

Steve Albini Takes Another Shot At WSOP Gold

Level 1 : 75/150, 25 ante
Steve Albini
Steve Albini

We first ran across singer, songwriter, guitarist, audio engineer, and music journalist Steve Albini playing in Event #26: $1,000 Seniors No-Limit Hold'em Championship. Albini has made a reappearance here today in Event #33: $2,500 Seven-Card Razz to take a second shot at razz gold.

While Albini's name may not be as familiar as some musical artists, he's worked with groups such as Nirvana, Cheap Trick, the Pixies, and The Stooges as a record producer.

Albini already has two WSOP cashes to his name. The first being in 2010 in a $1,500 seven card stud event and the second being a 12th place finish just days ago in Event #26. Albini is looking to improve upon his $40,694 cash with a strong showing here today.

We'll keep tabs on Albini's progress throughout the day and make sure to note if he can make another hit here today in Event #33.
