Gavin Smith

Brian Hacker opened the button to 10,000 only to have Michael Sanders three-bet the pot to 34,000 from the small. Gavin Smith then moved all in for 39,500 from the big blind and both Hacker and Sanders called.

The flop fell {9-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{8-Clubs} and Sanders moved all in for 22,500 and Hacker called.

Smith: {A-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{6-Spades}
Hacker: {A-Spades}{2-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}
Sanders: {A-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}{Q-Spades}{5-Diamonds}

The turn and river landed the {4-Spades} and {J-Hearts} and Smith was sent to the rail as Sanders scooped a huge pot to move to 165,000 while Hacker slipped to 70,000.

Allyn Jaffrey Shulman Quarters "Miami" John For A Huge Pot

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 0 ante
Allyn Jaffrey Shulman
Allyn Jaffrey Shulman

Action began with Allyn Jaffrey Shulman who made it 14,000 before the flop. "Miami" John Cernuto called in position.

The flop came down {7-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}{K-Hearts} and Shulman continued with a bet of 20,000. Cernuto called without much thought.

The turn was the {4-Spades} and very quickly Shulman announced pot, which ended up being 78,000. Cernuto went deep into the tank and counted his chips multiple times to try to figure out how much he would have behind if he called and lost, as well as how much exactly Shulman had behind, which was 32,000.

He was in the tank for nearly 5 minutes before he finally slid in the chips for a call. The river fell the {5-Clubs} and Shulman quickly went all in, and Cernuto called.

Shulman tabled {A-Diamonds}{A-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{J-Clubs} which was good for a pair of aces and the nut low. Cernuto showed his {K-Clubs}{2-Spades}{A-Spades}{3-Hearts} for a pair of kings and the same low. With that, Cernuto received just a quarter of the pot and he was cut down while Shulman stacked her newly found chips. That pot pushed Shulman closer to the chip lead and put her inside the top five chip stacks in the room.

Silverman Surrenders

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 0 ante

Catching the action with both Joe Silverman and Vladimir Shchmelev all in, we found Amnon Filippi making the call to put both players at risk.

Shchmelev: {K-Clubs}{K-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}
Filippi: {A-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}
Silverman: {A-Spades}{J-Spades}{5-Clubs}{4-Clubs}

The board ran out {6-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{2-Spades} to see Silverman sent to the rail as Shchmelev and Filippi chopped up the high and the low respectively.

The following players all received $5,612 for their efforts.

Matusow Exits

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 0 ante

Speaking to Joe Hachem, he informed us that Mike Matusow held {A-}{A-}{X-}{X-} against the {K-}{K-}{X-}{X-} of John O'Shea.

The flop fell king-high when all the money went in and Matusow failed to improve and was sent to the rail just short of the final four tables.

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 0 ante

Alexey Makarov opened to 9,000 from the hi-jack and Robert Price potted to 33,000 next to act. Makarov made the call, and when the {3-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{3-Clubs} flop fell he put Price all in for his last 6,500. Price obliged with a call and the cards were tabled.

Makarov: {A-Spades}{K-Spades}{9-Hearts}{4-Hearts}
Price: {A-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{2-Hearts}

The turn and river landed the {A-Diamonds} and {J-Clubs} to see Price make his flush and scoop Makarov to double to nearly 90,000.
