Sander Eliminated on the Bubble by Leonard and Zaleski

Level 16 : 3,000/6,000, 0 ante
Patrick Leonard
Patrick Leonard

Amit Sander was forced all-in from the big blind and he didn't look at his cards. It was John Zaleski who raised to 6,000 from early position and Patrick Leonard called from the cutoff.

The flop was dealt {k-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} and Zaleski fired a bet of 3,000 on the flop and Leonard called. The turn was the {j-Hearts} and Zaleski bet again. Leonard called to see the {5-Spades} river and he called again when Zaleski bet 6,000.

Leonard won the high part of the pot with {a-Spades}{q-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{2-Hearts} and Zaleski took down the low with {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}.

Sander then proceeded to turn over his cards one by one and that resulted in {9-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}.

Sander wasn't able to win either the low or the high part of the pot and he was eliminated as the final player who didn't cash in the tournament.

All the other players are guaranteed to take home at least $2,257.

Yu Continues to Feast

Level 16 : 3,000/6,000, 0 ante
Ben Yu
Ben Yu

Ben Yu found the action on him in late position, he elected to open and was three-bet by Scott Brooks in the small. Yu put in the chips to call and a flop of {9-Clubs}{2-Spades}{k-Diamonds} hit the felt.

Brooks bet and Yu instantly put in two bets, Brooks called. The board paired as a {9-Hearts} peeled off as the turn card, Brooks bet and Yu just called.

The dealer flipped over a {3-Spades} on the river, Brooks checked to Yu and he put in a bet. Brooks called and Yu slammed over {k-Spades}{k-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} for a turned full house, Brooks showed {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs} as he threw his hand into the muck, shipping a monster pot to the three-time bracelet winner.

Phelps and Halpern Split One Up

Level 16 : 3,000/6,000, 0 ante

Curtis Phelps opened from late position, a player called in the cutoff and David Halpern defended his big blind. A flop of {6-Spades}{5-Clubs}{q-Clubs} hit the felt and all three players checked to the {a-Spades} turn card.

Halpern pushed in a bet that both of his opponents called and the {j-Diamonds} landed on the river. Halpern checked and Phelps threw in a bet that was called by both of his opponents.

Phelps turned over {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{3-Spades} for a straight and Halpern tabled {4-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} for the nut low. Their cutoff opponent mucked and the two split up the chips in the middle.
