Johnson Bets to Commit

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 0 ante

There were three players in on a {8-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} flop. David Black was in the big blind and the first to act and he checked. Next up was Stephen Johnson on the cutoff, who did the same. Kyle Miaso then bet 22,000 on the button and both players called.

The turn was the {7-Spades} and when Black checked, Johnson bet 100,000, which was more than half of his chips. Miaso quickly got out of the way but Black had a tougher decision and spent a minute or so in the tank before letting it go.

On a board reading {5-Clubs}{k-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{8-Spades} Adrian Jimenez put out a river bet to his oppinent Michael Mizrachi. After mulling it over for a while, Mizrachi folded to send some of his stack to Jimenez. "The Grinder" will not be too stressed about it though as he still retains his seven figure chip count mark.

Michael Mizrachi is continuing his upward ascent. After starting the day as one of the shortest stacks, he is now the first player to exceed one million in chips.

The latest acquisition came in a hand against Jeremy Harkin. Action took place on the turn with {2-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{a-Spades}{5-Clubs} on the board and Mizrachi faced a 75,000 bet, which he raised to 230,000. Harkin gave it some thought before choosing to pass and Mizrachi takes yet another pot without showdown.
