Brewer Runs into Kicker Problems

Mike Matusow limped in from the cutoff and Chris Brewer checked from the big blind.

The flop came K54 and Brewer check-called a 1,200 bet from Matusow.

Both players then checked through the 9 turn and A river. Brewer tabled A664 for two pair with aces and fours but Matusow showed down AJ54 for aces and fives to take the pot.

On the A turn the small blind bet another 10,000. Obst made a pot-sized raise and the small blind, who had about 45,000 behind, opted to fold.

Hui Pots into Two Opponents

A player in middle position opened to 3,000 and received calls from a player in the cutoff and Loni Hui in the big blind.

The flop came QJ6. Hui checked, the original raiser bet 7,500, the cutoff called and Hui responded with a pot-sized raise to 40,500. Both opponents opted to fold and Hui took the pot without showdown.
