2024 World Series of Poker
Ren Lin was still settling into his seat when he peeked at his cards and announced pot, which was a raise to 1,800. Only the small blind called.
On the 8♥2♠5♥ flop, both players checked to the 5♦ turn. The small blind led out for 2,000, and Lin called.
A 6♦ completed the board and the small blind fired 7,700, which got Lin to lay it down.
Dylan Weisman opened to 1,800 from the cutoff and Vasil Medarov defended from the big blind.
The flop came K♥2♦9♠ and Medarov check-called a 2,800 continuation bet from Weisman.
Medarov check-called another bet from Weisman on the 2♥ turn, this time for 6,000.
On the 6♥ river both players checked. Medarov tabled aces up with A♥A♣Q♣4♦ to take down a nice early pot.
Action folded around to the blinds, where Ren Lin raised to 1,800 from the small blind and Amit Ben Yacov called from the big blind.
Yacov called a 4,200 bet from Lin on the 3♣Q♥K♣ flop and then Lin bet pot for 12,300 on the A♥ turn.
Yacov raised to 40,000 and Lin said, "Cooler," as he placed his bet on top of Yacov's stack and folded.
The action was caught after a preflop-raising war saw the pot grow to 49,100, with two players heading to a flop of J♥2♥K♠.
Both Viktor Blom, in the big blind, and Patrik Jaros, in the cutoff, checked the hand through to reveal the 3♠ turn and the 3♥ river. Blom fired a pot-sized bet of 49,100 and Jaros made a curious call.
"Flush" announced Blom as he tabled 10♦8♥7♦5♥. Jaros mucked the 3♣ face up.
With over 40,000 chips in the pot on a flop of 9♦6♠2♠, both Daniel Hachem and Filip Lovric had got all of their chips into the middle which created a 600-big-blind pot just minutes into the day.
Daniel Hachem: J♣10♣8♠7♣
Filip Lovric: A♠K♠Q♦10♦
Hachem had the full wrap and had pair outs up against the nut flush draw of Lovric, who was currently in the lead.
The 2♣ turn changed nothing, and the 3♦ was also a brick which meant the pot went Lovric's way with just ace-high.
With two players seeing a board of K♦K♣2♦ and about 3,500 in the middle, Isaac Haxton checked in the small blind and Lautaro Guerra bet 1,000 from the big blind. Haxton check-raised to 2,800 and Guerra made the call.
Haxton bet 6,500 on the 7♣ turn and was called by Guerra.
On the A♥ river both players checked. Haxton tabled 10♥8♥4♦4♥ while Guerra turned over a higher two pair with Q♥9♦9♣7♥ to take the pot.
Patrik Jaros limped in from the cutoff, as did the button and small blind. Viktor Blom checked his option in the big blind.
The 8♥8♠2♥ saw the action checked to Blom, who bet out 1,000. Only Jaros called.
The 5♦ turn saw Blom fire again, this time for 4,000. Jaros didn't back down.
The 5♣ river slowed down Blom as he checked and then folded to a bet of 4,000, from Jaros.
