Benjamin Grise started his journey today with an above-average stack in the Paris Ballroom and was moved over to the Horseshoe Ballroom red section with an already huge stack. He then took down the latest pot against Peter Jaksland when the latter was wise to check behind the 8♣7♣3♣5♣9♣ river.
Grise tabled the A♣K♥ for the ace-high flush and claimed the pot.
On the side feature table, Joe Cada moved all in for 11,100 from early position and was at risk to Eliran Pilo, who was on the button.
Joe Cada: 4♦4♣
Eliran Pilo: K♥K♠
The A♦K♦5♣ flop saw Pilo make a set to leave Cada drawing thin. The 8♦ turn gave Cada some hope with a flush draw but the 2♠ river was a brick and Cada exited on Day 2d.
Thre-way action was on the flop of 2♦8♥3♦. Preston McEwen bet 2,800 from middle position. Catalin Pop raised to 7,800 from the small blind and the big blind got out of the way.
The turn was the 3♣. Pop led out for 6,800. McEwen contemplated it for some time before he released his cards.
"Want to see the red one or the bluff" said Pop, which McEwen responded the bluff. Pop then showed the 7♣ and claimed the other one had been the 8♣.
Action was picked up on the river with roughly 25,000 in the pot and the board showing 3♠A♣8♦9♠3♥.
Gerard Harraghy checked from the big blind to David Harmon on the button, who bet 20,100 to put Harraghy all in. After thinking over his decision, Harraghy called for his tournament life.
Harmon tabled 6♣4♠ for six high, and Harraghy showed A♠2♠ for two pair aces and threes and secured the double up.
End of level 7
Paul Saso raised to 2,200 in the cutoff, a player on the button three-bet to 7,500, and Saso called.
The flop came 6♠K♥4♦ and the button bet 5,000. Saso called and the 2♠ fell on the turn.
The button then bet 13,000 and Saso again called. The K♣ fell on the river and Saso led out for 25,000. His opponent snap-folded and Saso took the pot.
