On a board of A♠2♦Q♥8♦9♥ Scott Allacher, who was first to act on the river, bet out for 2,400 into a pot of 6,200. As the river was heads-up, he was only betting into Jeremy Dresch, who was on the button.
Dresch didn't call the bet, or release his cards, but decided to raise to the tune 7,500. Allacher wasn't happy with the spot he was in, but ended up sticking in the call, and mucking as Dresch announced "I flopped it", as he tabled A♦Q♣
Larry Wright raised to 1,200 from middle position and was called by Angela Jordison on the button and Mark Seif from the big blind.
The dealer spread a flop of Q♠10♣8♥, and the action checked to Jordison, who bet 1,300. Seif folded, and Wright called.
The turn was the J♠. This time, Jordison bet 2,500, which was enough to get a fold from Wright.
Paul Vang raised from the button to 700, and Josh Arieh made the call from the small blind. The flop showed 8♠K♥K♠, and Arieh checked. Vang bet out 800, and Arieh made the call.
Both players checked the turn A♥ and the river 2♥. Arieh turned over 5♦5♣ and Vang mucked.

Jeffrey Leonard in hijack opened to 500 and got a three-bet from Dean Schultz on the button to 1,000.
Both players saw a flop of 5♣4♣10♦. Leonard check-called Schultz's 700 bet leading them to the next steet.
The turn 9♦ had Leonard leading with 2,200. Schultz hung on. Both players checked the river 7♥.
Leonard showed Q♣10♣ for a pair on the flop. Schultz folded his hand and conceded the pot to Leonard.
On a flop of 5♣A♦5♥ Larry Imm placed a continuation-bet of 6,100 into a pot of 5,800. Stuart Taylor wasn't happy with the spot he was in, saying "man, do you just have ace-king here?" He ended up going all in for his remaining 7,300, Imm's pot odds were simply too good to not make the call.

The 3♠7♥ runout kept Taylor alive, as he picked up a much-needed double up to carry on in this event.
Felipe Davila raised to 600 from early position before Larry Wright three-bet to 2,200 from the cutoff. The rest of the table folded, and Davila made the call.
The flop came 6♠6♥10♠, Davila checked, Wright bet 1,800, and Davila folded. Wright has amassed over double his starting stack in the early stages of Event #40.
Joseph Degeorge limped from under the gun. Action folded around to the small blind David Santarelli, who limped as well.
Steve Sparks, had other things in mind and defended his big blind by raising to 800. Degeorge called but Santarelli got out of the way.
The flop came 9♣3♦5♥ and both players checked. On the turn J♥, Sparks led with 1,000 which was enough to make Degeorge fold.
Action was picked up on the river where Jonathan Hewston was all in from the big blind and Uri Kadosh had called from the button. The board was A♠5♠J♦J♣5♣.

Both players held a full house, but Hewston had the smaller version and was eliminated, and Kadosh scooped a tidy sum.
On a pot of 4,000 and a board of 2♦A♠8♣A♦, Larry Wright bet 1,700 in cutoff after action was passed to him in heads-up play. Kathy Liebert, in the small blind, called to see the last street.
The river 10♥ fell and both players checked. Liebert showed A♥J♥ for turned trips prompting Wright to throw his hand to the muck pile.
